Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion

I'm not putting a damper on this, Valentina, but we have to be careful with review swaps. Amazon is a bit snippy about this. I' m no expert about this, mind you. Perhaps someone more genned up can let us know what Amazon thinks about this.
Of course, although it belongs to Amazon, it seems to be easier to do things like this if you post reviews to Goodreads.
I did a swap a year or so ago. I duly bought the book, read it and posted a review. I'm still waiting for the review of my book!

I meant to say that I've got a couple of books to read and review before I can consider joining in, but if it turns out we can do this, I'll join then.

I am moderating a group here called Authors' Review Exchange. Go to my profile page and scroll down to my groups to find it. That is the easiest way for me to tell you how to get there. I believe all members are active in reviewing books. I have two on my plate right now.

This group is for authors to get together to read and write reviews on each other's works. The group is there only to provide constructive reviews to post on goodreads.com as well as more detailed analysis in private messages.

Goodreads.com TOS allows for authors to exchange books and reviews, provided we disclose that we received our copy of the book from the author.

Amazon.com does not allow author review exchanges according to their TOS. I would advise anyone who sells books on Amazon.com to not engage in trading reviews on the Amazon.com website.

That group violates Amazon’s review guidelines and I hope participating authors realise they run the risk of having their KDP accounts banned for review manipulation. Goodreads should shut it down.

If you sell books, reviews look after themselves ;)

Oh, I had no idea! I thought it was more about sharing your work with others and obtaining Goodreads reviews more than anything else. Thanks for the warning
