Tip from the Mods We are halfway through 2021, so this is the perfect time to evaluate how your challenge is going! How many books have you read so far? Or are you a little behind schedule and in need of some encouragement? Have you already discovered many great reads and are looking for a place to share them? Please let us know!
Group Read Every month, our group votes on and reads a book together. You don't have to read the book, but we would love it if you did! Our July theme is Treasure and our group read for this month is Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. This book was nominated by Ashleigh and tells the story of a young pirate captain on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map. Feel free to join the discussion or post your review of the book! You can also vote for our August book with the theme of Soul as well as nominate a book for September with the theme of Evolution!
Challenges The group has fifteen 2021 yearly challenges and there’s still plenty of time to join one or more of them!
We have two brand new quarterly challenges for you, both based on our quarterly theme of Towards a Sustainable World. For Book Recycling you can read anything you want, as long as your copy will also be read by somebody else. This challenge is led by Navya. You can also opt for the second challenge, Global Goals for a Sustainable World, and read books that fit prompts for the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This challenge is led by its creator, TerryJane.
We also have two new challenges for you that are linked to the monthly theme of Treasure! In Riddle Me This we have ten prompts based on riddles. This challenge was suggested and will be led by Carmen. During the second challenge this month, Sustainable Scavenger Hunt created and led by Meghan L, you will go on a scavenger hunt for literary treasures.
Do you have a great idea for a new challenge? Please let us know! Most of our quarterly and monthly challenges grow out of our members’ suggestions. We love hearing your creative ideas.
TBR Twins Share a book with an online friend while knocking off a read from your TBR list! You can sign up for August TBR Twins here, and we'll pair you with someone to read a book with next month. If you’ve signed up for July, your twins are posted here. Please reach out to your twin and choose a book to read together!
Buddy Reads Let’s read some books together! Buddy reads are a great way to read and discuss a book together with fellow group members. This month we will have a total of 25 Buddy Reads!
