Superbad is a 2007 teen comedy directed by Greg Mottola and written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. It stars many famous actors such as Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, and Bill Hader. It follows two high school senior bestfriends Seth and Evan getting invited to a party and have to find a way to buy alcohol and get to the party in time. There is also a side plot of their other friend Fogell getting a fake id to buy the alcohol but instead gets picked up by two cops and spend the rest of the movie with them. The writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg based a lot of the story and jokes around real life stories and experiences they had during high school.
This movie is so funny and is honestly one of my favorite comedies ever. The dialogue is so perfect as the conversations feel so natural and the delivery of many jokes is what make them funny. The characters and their problems at the start of the movie are simple in a way that anybody can relate to it but especially later in the movie a lot of their problems and emotions get deeper and can be even more relatable emotionally for a lot of people. This movie has a lot of hilarious scenes that seem to escalate fast but still seem like something that can happen in real life to you and your friends while trying to have fun. Despite all of the jokes and hilarious scenes this movie isn't scared to tell a story about friendship and the fear of losing a friend after school while leaving for college.
I rate this movie a 5 star as it's one of my favorite comedies because of it's hilarious yet extremely relatable writing that makes it entertaining every watch.
