I have changed the name of the Children's folder so we can add YA, as some of these older YAs are from a more innocent time.

Please don't post open spoilers in this thread - or use spoiler tags - we don't want to spoil a first time read for anyone!

I have read this title at least twice before (when I was in my teens myself!) & I was surprised how much I remembered!

This is my cover. It is a British edition & I believe they changed some of the words. A brief introduction explains differences in British & American teenhoods of the time.

& Goodreads search is being its usual wayward self. I can't put a picture of this book in the This topic is about field. The search is bringing up all sorts of books that are #15 in their series.

One thing I’ve found that works to narrow the search is to type the name of the book and add the author’s last name on the end. I didn’t think Goodreads allowed that but it has worked for me.

That worked! I did it with Cleary's Christian name as well with no success.

I am going to try to find a copy so I can join - it has been so long since I read this!

OK I have found a copy with this cover

and the publisher recommends that it is for ages 8-12, which is how old I was when I first read the book.

I have shelved it as YA but I think it would be too young for modern teens.

I would probably have been 13/14 the first time I read it.

I'm going to bump this thread up since I have just re-read another YA Cleary.
