Tip from the Mods
Did you know that there are many free ebooks available through websites like Project Gutenberg? Member Courney created a list of websites that have ebooks for free or offer amazing deals on ebooks. You can check it out here to find your next read or to add websites to the list.

Group Read
Every month, our group votes on and reads a book together. You don't have to read the book, but we would love it if you did! Our August theme is Soul and our group read for this month is The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. This classic was nominated by Sandra and tells the story of a shepherd boy who travels the world. Feel free to join the discussion or post your review of the book!
You can also vote for our September book with the theme of Evolution as well as nominate a book for October with the theme of Illusion!

Challenges
The group has fifteen 2021 yearly challenges and there’s still plenty of time to join one or more of them!

Our quarterly challenges have entered their second month and are based on our quarterly theme of Towards a Sustainable World. For Book Recycling you can read anything you want, as long as your copy will also be read by somebody else. This challenge is led by Navya. You can also opt for the second challenge, Global Goals for a Sustainable World, and read books that fit prompts for the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This challenge is led by its creator, TerryJane.

We also have two new challenges for you, both linked to the monthly theme of Soul! Soul Searching is a prompt based challenge to help you find books with soul. This challenge was inspired by an idea from Carol and will be led by Bailey. For the second challenge this month, Soulmates: Opposites Attract created and led by TerryJane, you can read pairs of books involving opposites.

Do you have a great idea for a new challenge? Please let us know! Most of our quarterly and monthly challenges grow out of our members’ suggestions. We love hearing your creative ideas.

TBR Twins
Share a book with an online friend while knocking off a read from your TBR list!
You can sign up for September TBR Twins here, and we'll pair you with someone to read a book with next month. If you’ve signed up for August, your twins are posted here. Please reach out to your twin and choose a book to read together!

Buddy Reads
Let’s read some books together! Buddy reads are a great way to read and discuss a book together with fellow group members. This month we will have a total of 19 Buddy Reads!

We are starting or continuing the following stand-alone books:
... And Ladies of the Club, And the Mountains Echoed, Infinite Country, The Night Watchman, One Last Stop, The Six Wives of Henry VIII, and War and Peace.
