Eva's Endless Series (comments welcome)

I started with a thread... but my reading history is so unwieldy, I eventually upgraded to a spreadsheet... it's about 12-18 months behind, and been through several upgrades, but it's tracking nearly 500 series

That was always my best goal... to finish more than I start... always fails eventually tho...
If I get slumpy, the solution is to keep trying new series, until I find one I'm really into and focus on it for awhile... leads to alot of started series, and not many finished...

That's why I let it fall behind... it's a fair bit of work to catalog... and then it piles up and it feels daunting... similar to my backlog of ratings/reviews...
Mostly because I read 200-500 books a year... usually more in the 200-300 range... so it needs updating almost daily...
I like the spreadsheet for the color coding... originally it was 5 tabs I had to track, and constantly move things around... my biggest upgrade was migrating to a Master List, and using query functions to pull types of series into the other tabs based on status...
I used to have more statuses with Almost in the title, for series I'd read everything but the short stories, but instead merged them into a single tab... short stories are great for getting more insights into series you love, but tend to be more expensive per page than books, unless they end up in series-specific anthologies...

BTW... has anyone ever told you your profile picture looks like rudolph the red-nose reindeer, if you don't know what you're looking at in a small thumbnail, and have bad image recognition / pariedolia?

Even knowing what it is vaguely supposed to be, I still see Rudolph, especially at the smallest size in threads :D
EDIT: I pulled up the full-size image, and it's definite 100% the image cropping's fault...

Your picture always reminds me of Kylar from the Night Angel trilogy.
And wow, that number of books is hella impressive! And here I am with my "read 80 books" yearly challenge, lol.
I'm around 200 for the year so far, this year... at this point last year I think I had 400... I could have read alot more last year if I hadn't slumped around the end of May with 300 already... I was reading like 3 books a day... tons of mysteries...
I've looped through a number of hoodie pics over the past couple years, mostly drawings, I think this one is a photo from google...
For rudolph, the roses are the nose, the hair is the eye, the pale head is the pupil, and the dress is the cheek and neck... it mostly works in the very small thumbnail on comment pages and notifications... NOT on your profile page...
Then again, I've always dissociated and found my own images in things, especially wall spackle or other random things...

Once you see it, it becomes the first thing you see until you force correct... at least for me...
