Luis Contreras | 60 comments the Game is a 1997 thriller directed by David Fincher. It followed the Success of Fincher's Se7en and stars Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. The film follows the birthday of Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) who is a wealthy and powerful investment banker. For his birthday, Nick's brother Conrad (Sean Penn) gives him a gift that would lead Nick into participating in a mysterious game. Once the game starts, Nick must find out what the purpose of the game is while it progressively blurs the line between the game and reality.

This movie is full of twists from start to finish. The longer you watch the movie from when the game starts to the end of the movie the crazier everything gets. The ending is probably one of the biggest highlights of the movie as everything builds up to it and there are so many twists you can't tell what is real and what isn't. The movie is similar to fight club or tenet in which you need to watch it again to catch everything with knowledge of the ending but there are a lot of plot holes especially of how the game works.

I rate this movie a 3.5 stars as it does a great job at delivering a very trippy and mind bending movie but there is a lot of plot holes that you need to excuse in order to truly experience it.
