The Warrens in many senses is typical of many fantasy settings - squalor, brutality, etc. perhaps what sets this apart is the dealing of child sexual abuse by older children.
I'm looking forward to see how the story line develops - in particular Azoth's and Durzo Blint's. Also how the hinted at political intrigues and magic elements develop.

So far it's a good book. The writing is nowhere near the bests, but it gets the job done and the plot is gripping.
On the other hand, I feel Durzo is becoming a little too one dimensional as the chapters go by.
I've finished the book now so will be careful what I write. I agree that Durzo feels like he needs more fleshing out as a character. At the moment to me he is very much an idol rather than a real person.
I don't get the whole 'wetboy' thing either. It is almost like the word assassin is for a whole other class of killer and not one that is sought after. To me it should be the other way. 'Wetboys' should aspire to become assassins, not the other way.

Lel - if you want to make an overall discussion thread as well, feel free :) I won't be finishing this book for a while...
Finished. I thought it was decent, not great. Some parts of it were a bit cliche, but there were some creative bits.
I presume "wetboy" came from the "wetworks" term for assassinations that was popular some time ago.

Not going to give any spoilers just encouragement that I've read the series and it really gets better as it progresses, the storyline for Logan gets super intense. Stick with it!
So far, I'm not overly impressed with the book. It's okay... I'd like some more detailed world-building, right now it feels pretty fantasy generic. Hoping it picks up!
