School has brought my ability to read for fun to an all-time low and I want to get back into the habit. I have read 6 books for school if I remember correctly so far and want to read at least three for fun books by the end of the year. If I can read 6 for fun books I will be ecstatic as I am starting in August.
Currently reading Childfree by Choice by Amy Blackstone and Avengers Infinity Saga Go for the Head and Philosophy by Robert Arp and Heather Rivera. Next up as they arrive Good Omens and Cities of Ghosts.
I am on chapter five of eight in Childfree by Choice. The Avengers Infinity Saga Go for the Head and Philosophy book is interesting... but it will take a bit longer as I work through all 31 essays. The book is very dense. It may be one I have going on for a couple of months as I fall in and out of reading it and start school.
Cities of Ghosts came early and I am now 92 pages in... so I may be really enjoying it. The writing and plot doesn't suffer due to the targeted age group like I worried about. Perfect for getting out of my long reading slump.
Just finished Cities of Ghosts and it is a five star book for me. I may want to go to Edinburgh myself now and retrace their steps... so well done. I loved the story, it read pretty quickly, and I love the relationships within. It never suffered in plot for me despite the easier reading level. It even surprised me in a few places I cannot wait to read more in the series or her other works.
On page 175 of 225 content pages of Childfree by Choice. I think the book is very informative, but at times could have truly benefited from an author with an opposing view contributing to balance out the presentation.
Finished Childfree by Choice and I was wrong about the page count. There is a lovely afterward by the author's husband that I felt could have been the start of his own version of this book. I felt like this is more for those deciding on committing to being Childfree than working on changing attitudes of those against Childfree adults and families. I think it's the author's usage of their personal thoughts and experiences alongside their research that makes me feel that way... I still recommend it.
P.S. That means I am one book away from my nine book goal and changing fully over to my 12 book (six for fun book) goal. Yes, the Avengers book, Childfree by Choice, and I Will Teach You to Be Rich are for fun books. I have weird tastes and I am not sorry about it.
Okay, maybe a little. Next year, I aim to be a bit more creative about my descriptions... not my book choices but my descriptions could use some upgrading.
I am reading The Girl Who Drank the Moon, Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh, and off and on the Avengers essay collection. I find that reading en ebook before bed, The Girl Who Drank the Moon, works well in addition to a physical book for day reading.
Hi, I am reading two new textbooks and a short kindle book to reach twelve books for the 2021 year. I am now moving to the 2022 Personal Challenge with a 20 book goal and a reach goal of 25.
