"Scythe" by Neal Shusterman is a dystopia, adventure, science fiction, and fantasy novel. In this dystopia there is no war, hunger, sicknesses, misery or even natural deaths. Scythes exist now and they are the only ones that can end a life. Citra and Rowan were chosen to be apprentices for a Scythe even though they both don't want to be. From then on they had to learn the art of taking a life the way a Scythe should.
I found this book to be very unique and I haven't seen a dystopia like this one before. It was interesting since both the main characters don't want to be what they were chosen for. Although the character development was really good. There were also a couple of plot twist that I differently did not expect to happen. All in all I really liked this book and I can't wait to read the next books in this series.
