I'm joining in this discussion since I assume this counts for points for the group challenge. I read it years ago and Bella irritated me so much with her choices sometimes but maybe I'll have a different take on her now. You never know. I am ready to find out anyway.

i look forward to discussing, too. i have read this and i guess the vampire diaries are a little bit similar with the supernatural elements. i havent read anything else aside from the twilight series by this author, but i have a couple others on my to read list.

I have read this one before, and agree with D.L. Bella did kind of annoy me. But maybe after having read the series, I'll feel differently about her. I have watched the movies so many times now (for some reason I like her in the films more) that it's kind of run together, so it'll be a nice refresher on the differences.

Chapter 3
(view spoiler)[ Charlie really doesn't get enough credit though this series. Edward saving Bella from the van is probably one of my favorite scene in this book. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6
(view spoiler)[ I've seen the movie so many times that the stories have sort of melted together, but I completely forgot that Jacob had sisters. i am really glad that Lauren isn't in the films. I thought Jessica was bad. Jacob is so sweet. I would want to sit and listen to the stories all day. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12
(view spoiler)[ I'd forgotten the instalove on his part. For her it was really obvious, but not for him. I think, for me, it's because he was so condescending to her. Like he goes on about wanting to protect her, but he just sighs and rolls is eyes at everything she says, then talks about how she is better than she thinks she is. It's so many mixed signals, especially during their lunches. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 16
(view spoiler)[ Carlisle was such a great human. I can't imagine what it would have been like to have his father being the way he was. I do think now that it was kind of intrusive for Bella to know so much about him from Edward so soon. And he said a lot about the rest of the family as well. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 18
(view spoiler)[ I think I would like to see Emmett have a chance at him. lol I think it would have saved trouble. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 22
(view spoiler)[ I'd forgotten how sneaky Bella was. lol. It was smart of her to take Jasper instead of Alice. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ That she went through all that and is afraid of dancing at prom is so relatable. lol I couldn't dance either. I like how Jacob's character is already set up for the next book, like how he's grown and complimenting her already. It's a good transition for his character. (hide spoiler)]
