Louie Sosa | 1 comments On Sanderson right now. I decided to go in on Warbreaker before Way of Kings. Simultaneously finishing up Foundation (Asimov) then I’ll swap to Alloy of Law. WoK will be after Warbreaker, and concurrently run Mistborn era 2 alongside Stormlight Archives.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England. I didn't care for it that much.

Now I'm starting a book I won from a Goodreads giveaway. It took four months for me to finally receive it, so I hope it's worth it. Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Here's what I finished in July.

Space Unicorn Blues ★★★★
The Burning Maze ★★★★★
The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England ★★★

Joseph | 1651 comments Just started the much-anticipated (by me, at least) Lord of a Shattered Land by Howard Andrew Jones.

message 464: by Tifani (new)

Tifani Newton (theimpalednewt) | 29 comments I just finished the Renegades series which was amazing. The main character was the villain of the story, and never have I been so angry with the decisions a character has decided to make. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and all the clever twists. The characters felt real.

I'm halfway through my second-ever Si-fi series. The Skyward series by Brandon Sanderson. It's amazingly creative so far, and I can't wait for the end!

message 465: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Picked up Roger Zelazny's Creatures of Light and Darkness, which I know I read when I was young but which went right over my head; let's see how things work out this time around.

message 467: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished Fourth Wing. It was fun, but too heavy on the romance for me. Still, I think I'm interested enough to check out the next book.

I'm reading Redshirts. Been watching a lot of Star Trek, and I was in the mood.

message 468: by Tom (new)

Tom McCourt | 2 comments Been reading a lot of David Gemmell lately.
Legend

message 469: by Charlton (new)

Charlton (cw-z) Just started Burden to Bear.

message 473: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Started Gardens of the Moon. I'm guessing I know what I'm going to be reading well into next year.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I just finished Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits. I had some issues with this book. I won it in a giveaway here, but it took four months for it to come in the mail. And then near the end of the book there was a major printing error with over thirty missing pages. I wasn't thrilled, but couldn't be bothered to get another copy because ultimately the book wasn't really to my tastes. I don't feel like I missed much even with the missing pages.

Now I'm starting The Hunger of the Gods.

message 476: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished two books in August. Both were middle of the road for me.

Fourth Wing ★★★★
Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits ★★★

But I also just finished Redshirts today, which was really good. Scalzi has always delivered for me. I really ought to read more of his works.

Now, I'm getting into the fall spirit and starting The Monsters We Defy.

How'd you like Warbreaker? It was by far my favorite of Sanderson's books! As well, I'm hesitant about sequel serieses (Which is totally a word) was Alloy of Law good?!

I can vouch for The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson beginning of a great series.

And it didn't destroy the perception of the world Sanderson had left behind?

Nah, it enhanced it and there was always references to the Mistborn trilogy.

Tifani Newton (theimpalednewt) | 29 comments Alright! I will probably pick it up next then!

message 482: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Dysart | 2 comments Love Sanderson! Way of Kings is epic and the rest of the stormlight archives are amazing. Mistborn era 1 is fantastic as well as Alloy. I also red Fourth Wing last month. It was fun. Working on Nevernight by Jay Krisoff book 2
What are you reading next?

message 483: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Dysart | 2 comments Oh and Red Rising series is phenomenal!

message 490: by Charlton (new)

Charlton (cw-z) I'm reading I,Zombie there is no hope by Hugh Howey. I've only read 52 out of 296 pgs. But I'm getting a kick out of it so far. Zombie book told through the eyes of the zombies. Unfortunately not found in GR. Also, not for the feint of heart (very graphic).

message 491: by Tifani (new)

Tifani Newton (theimpalednewt) | 29 comments I just finished Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson and it was absolutely enchanting. I love the voice from Hoid, not quite serious, but not a complete fairy tale! There were so many hilarious quotes and so many profound ones too. I'm excited to read the rest!

message 492: by Markus (new)

Markus | 20 comments Just finished Battle Mage by Peter A. Flannery and Ruination A League of Legends Novel by Anthony Reynolds .

BATTLE MAGE was quite a surprise - one of those rare epic fantasy stories in just one volume. I really liked it!

I never played "League of Legend" but still gave RUINATION a try. First I was afraid that knowledge of the game might be needed, but that's not the case. I got a good fantasy story and felt entertained.

message 493: by Charlton (new)

Charlton (cw-z) Reading Legends & Lattes 77% through and really enjoying this book.

message 495: by Tifani (new)

Tifani Newton (theimpalednewt) | 29 comments For those who said I should, I just finished Alloy of Law and it was amazing. The prologue physically hurt, and I was crying in chapter 1. The book was worth it, and although I love the original series, this one is amazing as well. Thank you! I cannot wait to start The Shadows of Self

Tifani Newton (theimpalednewt) | 29 comments I just finished Shadows of Self… damn… Sanderson, why you gotta wreck me like that?

message 500: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Here's what I finished in September. I was on a vacation for a week, so I didn't have as much reading, but loved what I read.

Redshirts ★★★★★
The Tyrant’s Tomb ★★★★★
