Joseph | 1651 comments Finished the last couple of Fafhrd & the Gray Mouser books (Swords and Ice Magic and The Knight and Knave of Swords) and decided to mix things up with some SF: Alastair Reynolds's Aurora Rising.

Markus | 20 comments I'm currently reading A Day of Fallen Night (The Roots of Chaos, #0) by Samantha Shannon . It's a prequel to The Priory of the Orange Tree (The Roots of Chaos, #1) by Samantha Shannon and I can really recommend those books!

Bea (hellomissbea) | 7 comments Reading the first book of the Drenai Tales by David Gemmell.
Legend.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I didn’t finish any books in July. I don’t remember the last time I didn’t finish any books in a month, but I have been reading some big books, so it’s understandable. I did just finish The Spirit War, which was good, but I felt like it took me forever to finish, so I’m taking a break from this series. I just started The Sheep Look Up.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Heh, well it didn't take long before I decided to DNF The Sheep Look Up. I just couldn't get past all the sexism, racism and homophobia, so I'm trying something very different. Can't get further away from that book than a Chinese middle grade fantasy called Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished Cibola Burn the other night. Wow, it was really brutal and I loved it. Might be my favorite so far. I'm pretty obsessed with this series.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished Where the Mountain Meets the Moon yesterday. It was a charming Chinese folktale for children.

Now back to finishing off Eli Monpress with Spirit's End.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Finally finished Words of Radiance. Took so long, but it was great.

Now I'm happy to read something shorter: I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons.

message 678: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments The Robert E. Howard Foundation Press has started releasing its collections as eBooks, so I read Pirate Adventures and started Spicy Adventures.

message 679: by Paul (new)

Paul Willson | 1 comments I am in the process of finishing the First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie

It's length is a little hard work and I have wondered whether some parts are necessary but the dialogue and relationships between the characters is fantastic.

I think my favourite character is Glokta.

message 680: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana Adams | 1 comments Almost finished with The Name of the Wind. Hoping the 3rd book just so happens to come out once I’ve finished with the 2nd. Might be wishful thinking lol 😂

message 682: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I just finished I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons. Unfortunately, I didn't care for it much.

message 689: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments The other day I finished The Blood Orchard War Arc. It was my first time reading a LitRPG. It was OK, pretty funny, but I also got a little bored, so I'm not really interested in continuing.

Now reading some horror with Voices in the Snow.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I just finished Voices in the Snow. Similar to other books I read by the author, but still entertaining. I don't feel like continuing the series at the moment though even with a cliffhanger.

I'm reading The Lost Apothecary now.
