WELCOME AUTUMN CHALLENGE

Hey everybody! Welcome to our first challenge. This challenge will run from September 10th and end on September 30th at 12:00pm EST. This will be a group challenge, were each group will try to read books that fit into the fall themed prompts. Sign ups will be open from September 1st to September 5th. Groups will be announced September 8th.

RULES

- All books must be read within the timelines set for the challenge.
- A book can only be used to fill a maximum of two prompts.
- Books can be read in any format, but page points will be taken from regular paperback editions.
- Buddy reads must happen within the group, and all participants must have comments detailing their progress on the thread.
- For cover prompts you must link the book cover you chose to fill the requirements.

POINT SYSTEM

Books between 100-200 pages will get + 5 points
Books between 201-300 pages will get + 10 points
Books between 301-400 pages will get + 15 points
Books between 401-500 pages will get + 20 points
Books between 501-600 pages will get + 25 points
And so on.

- If you write a review for the book you get an extra 3 points
- If you buddy read a book with a group mate you'll get an extra 5 points for each person that read the book
- Easy prompts award 5 points each
- If your team finishes all easy prompts you'll be awarded an extra 5 points
- Medium prompts award 10 points each
- If your team finishes all medium prompts you'll be awarded an extra 10 points
- Hard prompts award 15 points each
- If your team finishes all hard prompts you'll be awarded an extra 15 points
- If the team finishes all prompts you'll be awarded an extra 30 points

PROMPTS

Easy (5 points)
1. Read a book with the colors "red, orange, brown or yellow on the cover"
2. Read a book with the word "wind" on the title.
3. Read a book that takes place during the month of September.
4. Read a book that was published in the Fall.
5. Read a book that has leaves on the cover.
6. Read a book where the main character has red hair

Medium (10 points)
1. Read a book where a character is named "Autumn, Fall, (or other season related names that we can think of)"
2. Read a book with a pumpkin on the title or on the cover
3. Read a book where a character drinks apple cider
4. Read a book with a kite on the cover, or where the characters fly a kite.
5. Read a book by an author born in September

Hard (15 points)
1. Read Anne of Green Gables (As we'll watch the series for Fall Netflix Party)
2. In honor of some of September International days, read abook that features themes relating to any of the following:
a. September 8 -International Literacy Day
b. September 10 - World Suicide Prevention Day
c. September 21 -International Day of Peace
d. September 21- World’s Alzheimer’s Day
e. September 23 - International Day of Sign Languages
