It'd be good to read the same amount, but sometimes I get unexpected reading time and sometimes I don't get time at all, so I guess that would even out itself. you can drop a comment if you would like to adjust, though!

Okay, u know what? I'm judging you. I'm definitely judging you!! How could you leave this book after one chapter!?!?!? 58 pages in, and it feels like a freaking masterpiece! I'm loving the characters! I'm loving the writing style! I'm loving the setting! It's effing amazingg!!!!!ne djdidieuhdeuuaojddusooandiskaisj
Not that I'm reading it. But look the first chapter was a bit.....meh....compared to the hype and compared to the rest of the book. And in the first chap I couldn't even understand what the heck was going on. Things fell in place after that. 😅

No no, it's fine. But I am intrigued! Our thoughts seem to be polar on it. I can't wait to read your review.I'm liking the characters. especially Kaz and Inej, there's just something to them. Jesper is such a sweetheart, and so funny too, I like the kind of relationship he has with Kaz. Where Kaz is holding back, but inside he knows how much he trusts Jesper, and Jesper just being such a nice buddy! Inej is so AMAZING! Her Bravery, her feelings, her skill. everything.
I also like the POVs, their subtle changes and tones. And I like the writing style too.
Where are you in the book?
i dnfed it but i'll keep going if you're enjoying it!! (i loved shadow and bone so im confused why this one isn't sufficient for me)what do u think of the diversity? do u like kaz?

the diversity is amazing. Especially the comparison between Shu Han, Ravka, Ketterdam and Fjerda. it's amazing how the author thought of all of this, and the difference between cultures and all. Plus, it feels great to see references from S&B. I kinda feel proud for getting them idk why, lol.
I do like Kaz, i like his reserved nature, but how we can see he cares about some people, even in the way he doesn't say so. And his backstory too... I can see adorable little Kaz with his brother, and so the change in him feels meaningful. Plus the way he feels about Inej❤️

Oh, and by the way, you really don't have to continue because of me. If you're really hating it, it's fine to DNF it. That's totally your wish!

This my friend is a hard pill for me to swallow.mi worship this book. But your opinion is totally valid too!
it’s okay if you think the diversity is amazing!! i was a little disappointed in it but that’s because i had expectations bc of BookTok.thank you 😭 ✋ and also RIIGHT like the references to s&b sometimes felt like inside jokes 😭

Ohhh, i didn't know that. But right, my friend is reading it right now, and she mentioned Nina is in it, so i suppose it takes place after SOC. I didn't think about it that much, lol
