Hello, I’m being made fun of in The Name Game 2.0 by my partner and I want to drop out of the challenge.

Nora, I know you know that I am also a mod in the AMMP group. I may have had surgery in February BUT I paid attention to what happened in the group. I am also aware of what is happening in The Name Game 2.0. I don't know why you feel the need to manufacture issues that don't exist. You are, however, welcome to leave the group whenever you like. You know where the exit button is as you used it to exit AMMP when Sandi told you that you were the one being rude. We will NOT tolerate any more of this behavior. It will result in you being removed if you choose to stay and continue making false accusations against other members.

I don’t worry about how many books I can read I just like choosing other peoples 😂

Do you see the crying tears laughing face emoji? I told her that I was worried about being able to read 5 books in one month if I can only read one book in one month and I get sent this crying tears laughing face emoji in return which I took at face value as to mean I was being made fun of because I was worried about reading more books than I am able to.

I do not "feel the need to manufacture issues" and I am telling you the truth. I am not making "false accusations".

However, seeing as how I am being treated in this negative fashion, I am leaving this group.

Hey, I know I am not a mod but I wanted another way to get more involved in this group and was wondering if I could do a daily or weekly poll. Each poll would be a trivia question would be related to books. I was thinking some weeks/months would be themed ie. Popular children’s books, Harry Potter, fantasy, authors of the 21st century, etc. not sure if this is something I can do as just a member of the group.

The current settings are set to allow mods-only access because the consensus was that leaving it open could lead to abuse by trolls/spammers. However, we are not using the feature and are willing to unlock it so that you can utilize the feature. We have decided on a 3-month trial to see how things go. We will reassess again on June 1st to make sure things are going smoothly. In the meantime, we look forward to your polls.

I asked Michelle to reach out to you here. She did a two-month Partner Pick the last time and it seemed to work out well. She might be moving in that direction BUT I don't want to speak for her. Every time trying to post or hover over a comment box, this giant Group Rules comes up. It's only today and only in this group all day. Was this a change to show up every time or a glitch just with this group? It's very distracting unfortunately

First, let me apologize for the wait. I just realized that my notifications for this thread were turned off again. We have been having issues with that. We try to answer a bit more quickly than this.

I don't know how Ashley picks the Buddy reads. Let me see if I can find her. She is the best one of us to answer this question, so I will get her here as fast as I can.

Hi Fred!

For the "Formal" Buddy Reads that our group runs each month, our selected books come from a variety of sources, not just best-sellers. I strive to provide a well-rounded reading experience that includes diverse voices and genres. These books are chosen in advance for the entire year, giving members ample time to acquire them, whether through libraries or other means.

As for the "Series" Buddy Reads, these are based solely on nominations from the group and are voted on quarterly.

Yes, Dark Christmas is ongoing. It runs through January 31st. I have reached out to Namita. She should respond soon. I imagine she is just enjoying the holidays. If I need to step in to help her while she is away, I will do so. Let's give her until tomorrow to reply before I do so.

Well, we don't technically do group reviews here, BUT you can ask our members if they would be willing to do a review for you. We have an area called the Author's Corner. You may post your book there and ask if anyone would like to review your book. We do ask that you DO NOT post promotional materials outside of the Author's Corner.
