47 Meters Down: Uncaged directed by Johannes Roberts is a thriller/horror movie about the infamous sharks. This movie takes place in Mexico when step sisters Mia and Sasha were going on a shark tour, but decided to ditch it and hang out with their friends Alexa and Nicole at a secret spot that turns out to be a beautiful lake above an abandoned temple. They then decide to scuba dive to explore the temple and altar. As they explore it, Nicole knocks over a pillar and the girls find out that they are not alone in the water. Now it’s up to them to do whatever it takes to survive the Great White Shark that roams and evolves in the caves.
I personally had mixed feelings about this movie. The jump scares when the sharks popped in were actually pretty good. They actually got me. The storyline felt… eh. It felt like it was forced to be dragged on and I didn’t really like it. Like they could have escaped multiple times, but nope something always had to happen, a shark always had to come, blah blah blah. The ending was kind of heart warming though. I liked how the step sisters became closer to each other than they previously were before the event took place. In general, I thought the movie was OK.
