I just finished Carmilla, which can work for "published on the 31st of any month", "features vampires" or "the scariest books of all time list." Any thoughts? It seems like Brad has the list covered, so I was thinking one of the first two.

I'd go for vampires, since alternate editions count for "published on the 31st" I think it's easier to hit with any book

Mine don't match any of these as far as I know of. Some I can't check for words in txt.

Sierra, just make sure the devil/Lucifer actually makes an appearance in the book since the category is not just tagged devil but features the devil. :)
