Robin (robinmy) | 3478 comments Here is my list for October. I cut down on the number of books because I (finally) have a couple of mini-vacations planned. Will be visiting the Finger Lake area of New York next week. The week after that I'll be in Williamsburg, VA with my cousins.

Group/Buddy:
Poisonous - Allison Brennan (2,3,4)
✓ Deadly Cry - Angela Marsons (T,D,D) ★★★★★

2,3,4:
A Night Like This - Julia Quinn
Buried Beneath - Debbie Baldwin
✓ As Good as Dead - Beverly Barton ★★★☆☆ 1/2

Standalone/First in Series:
✓ Pieces of Sky - Kaki Warner ★★★★☆ 1/2
✓ Miracle Cure - Harlan Coben (AOM) ★★★☆☆ 1/2
✓ The Beast - Judith Ivory (random) ★☆☆☆☆
✓ The Stand-In - Lily Chu ★★★★☆ 1/2
✓ A Twist in the Tail - Leighann Dobbs ★★☆☆☆ 1/2
✓ Pretty Little Wife - Darby Kane ★★☆☆☆
✓ The Thirty-Nine Steps - John Buchan ★★★☆☆ 1/2

At the beginning of the year I pulled 30 books from my never-ending TBR pile. I included standalone books that I've had forever and some books that are first in series. I wrote the titles on a numbered list. Then every month I call my mother and tell her to pick a number between 1 and 30. This one was number 8.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 2091 comments Great Idea Robin.

My daughter and I have a lot of similar books on our TBR. Mostly they are new authors we meet at book signings. (I started dragging her along with me in case I need help maneuvering around the events. Now she likes going as much as I do.) We can make a list then pick one to read every month.

Enjoy your reading and your vacations.

Thanks Sharon. I envy you going to book signings. I've only been to one that they had in Pittsburgh many years ago. Would love to go again.

That's a great idea, Robin!
I am going to try it out next year (which is approaching faster than ever).

I read Pieces of Sky (Blood Rose, #1) by Kaki Warner Pieces of Sky by Kaki Warner. I enjoyed the slow-burn romance.

Robin (robinmy) | 3478 comments Early this morning I finished Miracle Cure by Harlan Coben Miracle Cure by Harlan Coben. It's not his best effort, but still worth reading.
