The end of September is here and I am ready for Sweater Weather! Or as I like to call it Blanket, Hot Tea, and Book Weather. On to the wrap up!

This month I read…

Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith- I listened to this on Audiobook, as typical for this series. I don’t think I would make it through one of these books if I didn’t listen to it on Audio. As I’ve said before, definitely formulaic when it comes to the story structure, but it’s still enjoyable. Also, we FINALLY get some Cormoran/Robin romance after 5 books of build up.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo- This duology has been so much fun to read. The characters especially are just so well written and are so fun to read despite their flaws. I’ve heard rumors there is going to be a third in this series, and I hope that’s true because I want more.

Falling by T.J. Newman- The premise of this book would draw anyone in, a flight hijacked by way of the pilots family being kidnapped on the ground. The what-ifs in the “my family dies or this whole plane of people die” scenario is very interesting to think about and I loved all the twists and turns. Unfortunately this book was just ok despite all the hype, and it fell into a lot of stereotypes and cliches that I didn’t love. I still enjoyed it as a nice thrilling quick read, it just didn’t live up to expectations.

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary-I listened to this on Audiobook. This was one of the cutest and best contemporary romances I’ve read in a while. The concept behind it was super cute and interesting, two people who have never met sharing a bed, just not at the same time. Despite dealing with some heavy topics this was still just so much fun to read. And the epilogue ya’ll, so freaking cute!

Morningside Heights by Joshua Henkin- This book was a big fat meh. I didn’t care much about any of the characters despite what was going on. Nothing stuck out to me or stayed with me after I finished. It was just kind of there. Had I been able to connect with any of the characters more perhaps I would have enjoyed it more, but we’ll never know.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo- Another Grishaverse novel. Can you tell I’ve dived in head first after really enjoying Six of Crows and the Netflix show? The first in this trilogy (Shadow and Bone) wasn’t one of my favorites, but it was enjoyable. I expected pretty much the same thing from this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked this one so much more than the first one. If it was the characters that kept reading the Six of Crows duology, it’s the plot of this trilogy keeping me going. I’ve got Ruin and Rising checked out and ready to read, haha.

What did you read this month? Be sure to share down below!

Happy Reading!
