06. A book with an image of a source of light on the cover

Survive the Night
Home Before Dark
The Girl Who Chased the Moon

If anyone is looking for an idea, I recommend:
The Last Days of Night

The Last Days of Night sounds great to me.
I'm also interested in:
To the Lighthouse
Firekeeper's Daughter
The Lathe of Heaven
Half of a Yellow Sun
Children of Time
The Three Body Problem
Between two Worlds
I highly recommend:
Nothing to See Here
This Tender Land
Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI
Still Life - and many books in this mystery series

Last Night at the Telegraph Club - Melinda Lo
The Bedlam Stacks - Natasha Pulley

I highly recommend Half of a Yellow Sun and Nothing to See Here

My genres are fantasy, horror, scifi, and certain types of non-fic. This is honestly a bit of a free space for me, the following are barely touching the surface.

When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman
Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw
And many others.

Below the Edge of Darkness: A Memoir of Exploring Light and Life in the Deep Sea
Station Eleven
Lightning Thief
The Lathe of Heaven
A long way to a small angry planet
I recommend
This Tender Land
Where the Lost Wander
A Boy and his dog at the End of the World "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine."

I don't think the thing in Klara's hand emits light. It's a solar power sensor to maintain her power/energy.

The Golden Son
Half of a Yellow Sun
The Lightkeeper's Daughters
Nothing to See Here
Who Fears Death by Nnedi Oforafor
The Night Tiger

This book also works for women in STEM.

Eight Kinky Nights
Fortune Favors the Dead
The Charm Offensive
The Checklist
I Was a Stripper Librarian: From Cardigans to G-strings
Wildfire
All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis
The Brightest Star in Paris
The Conductors
The Way You Hold Me
Yellow Bird: Oil, Murder, and a Woman's Search for Justice in Indian Country
Firekeeper's Daughter

From my 4 and 5 star reads, I would recommend several of Nancy Atherton's cozy mysteries:

Other mysteries:

Fantasy:

Romance:

Children's/YA:

Nonfiction:

When I saw this in the Goodreads Choice Awards, it made me think of this prompt.

Lots of light on the cover, though, between the fire, the stars, and the city lights.

I find those especially helpful for “cover” prompts rather than trying to find images of every book I’m thinking of reading!
Thanks!

You can always find the listopia for a prompt in the first post of the thread. Also here is a post of all the listopias in one place: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Happy planning!

It was written to link with the National Gallery's exhibition of Artemisia Gentileschi's work, which I wanted to see, but started in the spring of 2020, so I didn't, so I at least got to see the paintings in the book.

That link to all the lists is great too, thanks!

The app is always the culprit lol; there's just no accounting for what it will or won't let you do. When in doubt, use the web browser or a computer.

It has light reflected from the tower and the windows of the buildings
I have snothing to recommend off the top of my head

Decided to reread Firestarter before the new movie comes out. Not as good as I remember, but I was at least able to fit it towards a prompt.

If you are also interested in a book that fits both visually and thematically, I would recommend The Comet Seekers by Helen Sedgewick. I know this has a super low rating, but I found it to be extremely beautiful and compelling (you have to be okay with strange, unexplained magical realism and a depiction of a consensual romantic relationship between first cousins). The comet on the cover plays an integral role in the story.

I went with Raybearer, which I guess doesn't technically have a *source* of light, per se, but it does have the rays all around, so I counted it, mostly because I was set on reading this one. It was very good! And the follow up (just two in the series) was excellent as well!
