[reading] discussion

So… I’m new to this stuff, but I figured I could add a topic too? I guess I’ll see in the comments.
Anyway, I wanted to ask if any of you know a book or more (the more the merrier) where a character tries to hurt/lie to/drive away another character because they think that other character is in danger because of them. Kinda like Edward did with Bella in Twilight.

P.S. my twilight days have passed, but that was the only example that came to mind 😅

anyways, i can't think of anything rn except for Dear Love, I Hate You but that "tries to drive the other away" trope thingy comes later on in the book.
