I hope you all are reading your faces off, drinking all the coffee and tea (and water too!), and enjoying diving into the world of books!

Since this hour isn't a sprint hour, I thought I'd ask a "favorite memory" question for us to share!

Tell us: What's your favorite experience or memory during a Readathon?

Whether it's the Dewey's Readathon or another one, or if this is your first one ever, what's your favorite part so far?

Mine? I did my first Readathon last year right here with you all and my favorite memory of that was reading some children's picture books and learning about our presidents! I would never have picked up picture books from the library, but I thought, well with a 24-hour readathon I might get sleepy so these might be a good break. And I ended up loving the children's books. So now it's part of my routine! Go to the library and get some fun children's books for my readathon!

Sarah (morr_books) | 116 comments This isn't necessarily my "favorite" memory, but it was very memorable for sure. I decided a couple years ago to read "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" for the readathon, as I was really looking forward to it. I finished it around 3am, when I was all alone in a dark house. I kept hearing creepy noises for the rest of the readathon and checked all the doors and windows multiple times. I now know that I can't read creepy books after dark.

Ooh that's a good one. I get scared easily so I have to watch what I read/watch and when. I usually follow up a scary read/watch with a Disney movie or The Office!

I contemplated I'll Be Gone in the Dark for the readathon this year. I might be tempted to read a few pages after this memory :)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 350 comments I love going to the library and charity shops before readathon day to find some short titles I might not have heard of before. I also browse my library app for short audio listens. Middle grade books and graphic novels save me every readathon!

SadieReadsAgain (sadiestartsagain) | 157 comments I was away for the Oct readathon in 2018, and so took part in and around a holiday park in Wales - sitting on the cafรฉ balcony overlooking the playpark my kids were in, in the cosy lounge of our lodge, finding autumn leaves to spice up my Insta photos. Lovely.

And for the April one in 2020, I took an early (i.e. 5am) walk on my local golf course with an audiobook. The sun was coming up, there was mist, I spotted deer...so peaceful.

Lena | 364 comments My favorite memory was from Dewy's last year I decided to participate at the last moment. I didn't know how to use the group on Goodreads and wasn't able to post at all. I also didn't understand when it started so I overslept horribly. It was still fun though.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 1435 comments Hmmm not sure of a favorite memory but there's been a lot of fun ones :)

I've also opted for shorter reads too. I do like the thrift shop idea though I never even thought about that. I'm doing that next time!

Both of those sound so nice and peaceful. I love letting myself walk around and take pics of nature!

I keep doing my best to make the most of each readathon. Last time I didn't really participate in the group or Goodreads and barely got anything read. This time I'm participating AND doing my best to finish an entire book. A little uplevel at a time is my goal!

I love that. I like picking one goal (similar to your goal of finishing something) for each readathon to make my experience a little bit better. This time, I want to finish Wicked, but really my goal is to participate in the discussions!

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments My best memories are from Deweys in April. My friend and I rent a cabin, preferably in the woods, and just spend reading together and taking walks while listening to audiobooks.

Yes, I think each readathon I'm looking to make it my own. Last year I didn't have the ability to participate. In previous year I participated only via YouTube and I feel like my strategy has evolved each time. I loved this one. It was so much fun!!

Same thing for me this year... Literally signed up when it was already 5 hours underway

I really need to start doing that. Having an actual pile of finished things by the end would be fun, even if they're really short.
I don't think I've ever finished more than 3 books during this event!
