The book The Lorax is a fantasy picture book that I chose to read. It’s about a little boy who wants to know the story of the Lorax in the town he’s living in. The Lorax is known for wanting to save the trees in the town, while others are trying to tear them down. He is trying to save the town from deforestation and the little boy wants more answers. In this book, we can see a clear Hero’s Journey from the little boy character. This is what we have been learning about in class and it’s being applied in the book.
I think that this book is amazing because it’s teaching kids to care about the environment and appreciate nature. It can help kids realize that this is the only earth we get and we will be living on ikt for as long as we can, so we need to take care of it. I loved reading this book when I was younger and I think the movie is really good too.
