“The Maze Runner” by James Dashner is a dystopian novel where the main character, Thomas, is sent up from a supply chute to start his new life. He has no memories of anything about his personal life. The only thing that he can recall is his name. When he is pulled out of the chute, he finds a group of teenage boys living together in a field surrounded by giant walls. He soon learns that the place is called, “the Glade,” and that the boys were actually trapped living inside of a giant maze. We find out they have no memories either and that they’re all just trying to figure a way out of this giant maze.
I really loved this book. It was always one of my favorite books to go to when I read. The pacing of the story was really well done, not too fast, not too short, it’s just perfect. It does a great work of getting people attached to the characters. I found myself getting attached to numerous ones in this book. There’s also a bunch of twists as well which I thought was cool. They were things that you could not have ever predicted. I really suggest this to anyone who loves dystopian and action novels, it’s a great book.
