I never would have switched either, but I must admit (with chagrin) that apps and “things” seem to work and flow better on the iPhone. My android was fairly old, though (Samsung S10), so maybe not fair to compare.🤷‍♀️

message 503: by Lilly (new)

Lilly | 2063 comments I’ve always used an iPhone/iPod and haven’t used my sister or parents phones enough to figure out Samsung.

Three major iPhone fails, imo, are 1) The keyboard— while I make fewer mistakes, having to go back and forth between screens to get to punctuation and numbers is a pain in the rear-end, especially when entering complicated passwords. 2). I cannot schedule texts to be delivered later. Terrible if you are an early riser and have friends/family in a later time zone. 3) I don’t seem to be able to dismiss my alarm before it goes off without turning it off altogether, which means I have to remember to turn it on again that night.

message 505: by Lilly (new)

Lilly | 2063 comments Ahh. Yes I’ve never had the privilege of scheduled messages (except email). And like every person I knew in the world up until a year and a half ago are now 3-4 hours behind me. So I just send the message and hope they turn their phone on silent if they’re sleeping. No one’s complained yet soo… 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😆

message 506: by Lilly (new)

Lilly | 2063 comments Ahhh. Yes the alarm thing!! So true that! I have to check at least twice that my alarm is right when I’m supposed to be up early for work. Quite annoying.

I will have to ask my friends if they mind early texts.📢

Lilly | 2063 comments That moment when you get to work and it’s not as catastrophic as you expected.
(Happens early but is a wondrous feeling.

@Sharon, There should be a snooze option for alarms. I don't use my alarm on my phone too often, though. Just when I'm not staying at my place. I prefer to use an old fashioned alarm clock, as I like to spend the morning without my phone if I can help it :)

I heard that Apple might be updating the messenger app later this year when they release IOS 17, but idk how true that is.

@Stephen, yes, I can hit snooze, but many times I want to turn off the alarm before it goes off without turning it off altogether. For example, if I wake before my alarm on Monday, I want to be able to turn it off just for Monday and have it still be set for the rest of the week. I don’t think I have that option. I sure do hope they add a schedule feature to texting!!

message 514: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany That moment when you reread a book that you adored as a child and you find that you shouldn't have picked it up as an adult reader. I mean, some books are just timeless- in my opinion, at least. Winnie the Pooh, Peter Rabbit, Anne of Green Gables, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, Black Beauty...

But then there are other books that you reread as an adult that makes you question what you were thinking when you were a child. Won't be mentioning any books here, lol. ;)

Cari Legere (carithewriter) | 561 comments Facts @Tiffany XD

message 516: by Lilly (new)

Lilly | 2063 comments So true!

And random question to anyone who can answer how do you make it so that a link is attached to a book or author?

message 517: by Sharon, ⭒botm leader⭒ (new)

Sharon Loves to Read | 7308 comments Mod
@Lilly, you can only do it from the website. I am on my phone right now, and I cannot remember the step-by-steps, but you click something right above the comment box. It might say “add author/title.”

message 518: by Lilly (new)

When you get on a social media for like one moment, and then look at the clock and it's two hours later. lol

Tiffany Not sure if anyone can relate with this.

/coughs awkwardly.

When you're trying to focus on something and your brain decides it's the appropriate time to remind you of that one time when you were a teenager that you did something incredibly stupid.

Sometimes I hate my brain. It takes forever to suppress those embarrassing memories, too.

Alison, I can definitely relate to that!! In most situations, if I am put on the spot with even an easy and lighthearted question, I draw a blank. But hours later, all kinds of answers flood my mind.🤦‍♀️

There was this Instagram reel I saw and it was like "I named this one Teddy, and this one Teddy....they're both named Teddy cuz I can't tell the difference." and it was talking about when someones being nice or when they're being like flirty or having a crush on you XD

message 534: by Emily (new)

message 543: by Lilly (new)

Lilly | 2063 comments Yeah. In my case it’s the generally loudish, excitable, enthusiastic type who talks to everyone. So I’d never know unless he told me.

Amanda Cook (amandacook) | 754 comments My case is that he's actually kinda quiet and doesn't talk a lot, ...unless it's at youth group (he's still really quiet) but I'm kinda extroverted and talkative so I can't tell if he's annoyed with me talking to him or if he's just being nice and talking back XD but he does like to read, and game soooo
