"it's adam and eve not adam and steve" "you're right it's achilles and patroclus"
thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

I knew this was a sad book going into it and it lived up to the hype imo, such a tragic yet beautiful story of Achilles and Patroclus. I'm in love!
Also the foreshadowing with the line "what has hector ever done to me?",
Love the writing and plot and Quotes were *chefs kiss*

Like I swear I cry every time I read it even though I know the ending!
I love it!
I'm deciding whether or not to reread it for the billionth time but idk if I want to be that sad yet haha :)

Idk that made me cry even harder lol, it felt like it could have never been between Patroclus and Achilles ever again :,)

oh my god samee

It made me so sad to see Patroclus watch over Achilles in grief.

I know its just too heartbreaking when your like there but not there

Even tho I didn't felt sad because Patroclus died (he died as a hero and we don't mourn heros) but when Thetis finally did something correct for once that is what made me cry,she gave back Achilles his love but she will never meet him again.

when i read this book this is EXACTLY what came to my mind

💔
How my heart went when I read these lines. Beautifully written.

If you enjoyed this book check out These Violent Delights and Priory of the Orange Tree, if you haven't read them already lol both are queer books that I love!

I have honestly never related this much to a character more than I have related to Patroclus. Putting that much effort and love and passion into a relationship when the other was taking it all for granted. I freaking love Patroclus so much.
THE ENDING THO! *not a spoiler* It was a bittersweet ending and I didn't know whether to cry or rejoice

Patroclus was so easy to love and root for. I feel like he was so understanding and selfless with Achilles. Also, it crazy cause their story has been known and retold but having this book literally brought tears to my eyes. I didn't know I cared about them this much until I read it. I don't think I will love any other pair as much as them. Talk about a Greek tragedy though...

I know right! they're like the definition of a Greek tragedy in my eyes. I adore them

The ending is wild like I fall on sobbed but then also it's lowkey happy so like what are you meant to do with those feelings?!
