Ann (annrumsey) | 16959 comments Dan: Nice list. Dennis Lebanese? ;) I liked C. Robert Cargill's Sea of Rust more than Day Zero. I definitely like his books. I like Brett Battles too, enjoyed The Cleaner.
I've always held fast that Sacred is my favorite of Dennis Lehane's Patrick and Angie series. Several of his stand alones vie for top book, but Sacred was very very good.

Hi Ann, I gulped down Lehane's Kenzie & Gennaro series so had to review Sacred. That was an especially good one. I'm reading The Given Day, all 700 pages. Getting a little tired of the Irish and I'm Irish.

Bonnie I loved the Lehane series. The ones I remembered to rate on here I gave 5 stars.

LOL, Mary Jo. Not Irish, but I am a longtime resident of Boston so was fascinated by the historical backdrop, particularly the police strike and the molasses flood.

I just googled to check the summary and found this Lehane video titled "A Walking Tour of Boston for The Given Day." Should be fun to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnMoH...

Mary Jo (serenemillie) | 138 comments Watched the video, Carol. The Harvard Football team being armed with rifles to control the crowd got my Irish up. I have finished Lehane's Shutter Island and it finished me. What a book. He leads you by the hand and you don't know where.

Mary Jo, we have had many debates on this board about Shutter Island; people either loved it or hated it. I loved it but will acknowledge it was a handful to read!
