Thanks for suggesting this one, Gracel!

Okay, so this is one where it would be good if, as a general rule, we sited evidence when we defend our case. This is very rooted in statistics, and just spouting numbers we heard somewhere isn't conducive to the rest of everyone being able to quote those stats.

That being said, if you have a stat and you can't remember where you got it from, it's fine if you mention it. Just maybe try to find it before too long.

Moving on! I'm going with masks don't work, and I have evidence I can quote! Fight me on that, and if we have people who don't agree with me, I'll quote my evi! :)

Hahaha. I don't know about this one. I think some masks do work, and some don't. My mom made home made masks, it's cloth and then in-between the two cloths, is a filter. And the filter is water proof so nothing is getting through. so it's cloth, filter cloth. and I read those actually work. but the one's like the n95 or wtv I don't think work. so I'm kinda inbetween :)

The one thing about the ones with the filter is that because it's so thick most of the air tends to escape around the edges...

Haha yeah I agree. I went to BJS and there are clearly signs saying don't have your mask off, don't have it on your chin etc. AND THE FREAKIN WORKERS HAVE IT ON THEIR CHIN!!!!! >:(

Personally I don't think that masks work. When they were mandated in schools there were so many kids getting sick, and that was because they were breathing in the carbon dioxide that they were breathing out. The carbon dioxide has nowhere to go when you have a mask on, so technically you're just breathing that back in, which isn't good for you.

Also I just hate wearing them, they're sooo annoying. And I don't think that they should be mandated either. So yeah...

(i don't have a source for that info, my mom just told me about it bc she researches like, everything)

But again its like the vax, it's helping, maybe not 100%, but it's helping you either not spread it or you not catch it. and if you want everything to work 100% then I guess nothing's gonna work. I say where a mask if you can, and get the vax. why take the risk?

I don't have time to quote the source, but masks legit hardly do anything. I will find the sources for that and post them on here when I have time because I think this is actually really important. Yes, wearing a mask is now the socially acceptable thing to do, but you spread and catch covid almost as easily as you do without a mask, and all the mask does is lower your own immunity, making you more susceptible to the virus.
Obviously, I can't just say that as that's a fact base and not an opinion base, so I will state my sources when I have time. In the meantime though, ATTACK MEEE!!!! :)

YES. If they want to then yes they can, good for them But some people hate masks and dont even wear them properly so its useless.

Well, even if they work, half the time people are not being NEARLY hygienic enough with them, and any good that they give is blotted out.
Some people just reuse masks over and over without washing them or anything, which is plain gross. Or they put them face-down on a public surface and then put them back on their face.
And with everyone freaking about COVID and stuff, I'm astonished by how much I see that. . . like, even without the pandemic, proper hygiene people???

hehehehe I actually would do that on purpose during the height of covid (not in super public places out of courtesy) so that I could keep my immune system strong. I'm pretty sure (at least I was back then) that it's been proven the masks weaken your immunity, so I would purposely let my mask get dirty so I could fight the germs off. I never got sick. Hmmm... lol I'm also a bit of (nvm make that a definitely really big) rebel, so that was my silent rebellion.
I also eat dirt on a regular basis. I've never had a stomach bug.
I don't recommend my methods, just saying...

So I am in college and I really hate masks. I don't think they work at all and are more of a societal custom to show that you are submissive and follow the rules. *Edgy opinion warning* I kinda view them similar to the hijab as it has become almost religious in the way people demand others to wear it even while they are alone.

I recognize If I was not at college I might not be this radical on this but it is a whole new level when you live on campus and have to deal with their mask BS. So I live in the dorms, we are only allowed to not wear masks inside our rooms. So we need to wear the masks when we are in the shower, on the toilet or trying to study alone. We people whose their job is to go around and find rule breakers then report them. If they catch you with your mask off while not actively drinking or eating they will write you up. If you get written up 3 times and live on campus then you loose your dorm room and need to find a new place to live.

I am kinda rebel and go to the shower without my mask and roll the dice every day.

In the stalls too. I don’t wear it in the stalls but they have knocked on stalls to make sure people are wearing masks

It all just seems fascist to me
