Melindam | 160 comments Can't seem to tear myself away from the bookshop theme, but there you go.

DREAM BIG! :)

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 76 comments Oh, my. There would be a large second hand section (in fact most of it) and I would be welcoming to all books. Lots of sofas and armchairs, lamps on occasional tables, rugs on wooden floors, browsers and readers welcome. Then a section of new books to help pay the bills.

Maybe a section of book themed gifts. And if I'm really dreaming big here, my own perfume--Eau de Livre Neuf.

Henk | 35 comments I would like to adjust the settings/floor (inspired by the Waterstones in the heart of London) to the kind of book, so the scifi books in a very sleek high tech interior, fantasy in a medieval theme and kids just a lot of slides and slings and stuff, nature with a lot of plants and an indoor waterfall...

Melindam | 160 comments I would add a coffee/teashop section, maybe next to the 2nd hand bookshelves with comfy chairs. :)

Gogol | 113 comments I loooove the idea of secret doors and passages and shops hidden from plain sight. I would open a real but mundane shop like an old grocery, or a drab rice shop, something very ordinary. Where the customers wouldn’t dream of or even be interested in what might be happening just on the other side of the wall. Then I would hide a secret entrance to the real book shop which would be two floored, (at least), paneled heaven with sitting nooks in the corners, and passageways and several twisting stairs, a fire place (I know it’s a hazard but in a day dream everything is allowed) a stained glass dome as a sky light, lots of comfortable sofas and chairs. Looots of desks, for writing, and copying, stationeries to use and to buy, and warm shaded lamps. Maps, fantastic data bases, best archive of the manuscripts and art books I love, …… at the disposal of only the members of my bookshop/library/club, to be studied on location, only. Because I have very bitter memories of what happens when you lend your books to just anyone, And instead of a coffee shop I want it to be like a private club. With a butler and kitchen of it own.
