Buddy Read Requests? Post them here!

There will be a buddy read of These Is My Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901 in April. Just placing this reminder so anyone interested can plan.

I planned to start Middlemarch sometime in April, then The Second Sex won the long read poll. Plans changed. I can't multitask my reading, especially chunksters.

Anette, I have added your read to the schedule and set up a thread for your discussion. Enjoy.

A reminder that Elkhorn Tavern is scheduled for a read in May, and Stormy Weather in June.
Also, a group consisting of Kathleen, Candi, Terry and myself are reading Sometimes a Great Notion in June. This book was nominated for a long read and did not win, so it can be used for the Long Read-Second or Worse category (for those who are doing the challenge).

I will add it to the schedule, Cynda. If I can possibly get a copy and make room, I would like to join. Just can't be certain.

I'm in - if I don't end up reading it before then.

One of my absolute favorites. I highly encourage those who haven't read it to join.

Hope you can hold out and do it with us, Katy!

Add me to the buddy read for this please. When are you beginning the novel?

I am interested but it will depend on how far I get with my present and scheduled reads. I may not have room.

Sam, I assume you mean the read for Sometimes a Great Notion. The discussion starts in June, and I will try to begin reading as close to the first of June as possible. I have posted the thread: HERE
Glad you will be joining us.

Wayne and I are going to do a buddy read on The Landlady by Roald Dahl the first two weeks of June. And of course everyone is welcome to join :-)

Of course!^^ I will be looking forward to see you on the thread then! :-)

Here"
Thank you Sara! :-)

I am planning on reading it slowly. It may take more than the rest of the year. Maybe I will read the Greek philosophers and then take a break. If anyone wants to join me, I can be flexible about the schedule.

Thank you for the recommendation. Will Durant top most book is The Story of Philosophy: The Lives and Opinions of the World's Greatest Philosophers. One of those listed as most similar to Russell's.
I am enjoying A History of Western Philosophy a lot. It is more funny than I ever imagined.

It was a mistake to say the book has '1000+' pages. It has in fact about 700. I mistook its bulk with that of The Age of Faith, another book of the series.
Reminder that there will be a group read of Conrad Richter's Awakening Land trilogy, beginning with The Trees in July, with The Fields in August and The Town in September. I am adding these to the schedule now and will set up the July discussion thread. Hope to see you there!

I've been wanting to read this one for quite a while. I would be interested.

I hope you guys do get a buddy read for Cry of Angels. It is one book that I just want to tell everyone they MUST read.
