Fed - Sounds like a good idea to make a thread for early French literature, probably with spoiler tags, as not everyone will be able to read everything. Thanks for your interests Fed, Carolien, Darya and Cynda. I´d like to read the letters too. :) Will see if I can get the others too.

great Loraine and Janelle! It's very flexible, Loraine. You just read at your pace and post your comments as you want. I often don't start buddy reads until the 2nd part of the month and do group reads in the first half but if people start posting them I try to get going on it . Once Sara puts up the thread, it's good to make a post to say you're participating because that way you get notifications and can tell if others have started. The thread might not go up for a bit.

I would also join a Buddy read of Oroonoko. I've voted for it several times!

Hi , Michaela ! I am interested in reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee if it can possibly be scheduled after December ?

I am excited to see so many interested in buddy reads for the coming year. It is a great way to organize a group read for books that somehow never garner enough votes to win the group polls.

When you have decided on a month for your read and are sure you have participants, please indicate the specific book and month to me and I will add it to the schedule and create your thread. Happy reading to all!

I'm "booked up" with group/buddy reads in January
but I'd be happy to read Carol in December
and Oroonoko anytime from Feb...

I will mostly be away in 2023 to catch up on other reading, yet I want to very much read either or both those books.

I'm pretty open for Parable. I haven't committed to any reads yet. Whatever time frame works for others will work for me.

I would like to join The Parable of the Sower. Any month is good for me.

I will be reading A Theory of Semiotics by Umberto Eco. I will be starting it in the next couple of days and will read on for a month or two or however long it takes to familiarize myself with some of the concepts. I hope others will join me in reading this book. We can help each other read this book so that we each can better understand and enjoy Umberto Eco's novels and essays.

I also want to read Parable and Mrs Palfrey. What about jumping in with Parable in January and Mrs Palfrey in February? Just suggestions as my schedule is open as well. We can pretty much do anything.

I'd like to read Parable if we could do it March?

Parable and Mrs Palfrey would both qualify for New School Second Place of Worse if anybody needs ideas for the challenge.

Greg, is there still a plan for The Conference of the Birds as a buddy read in February? I kind of lost track of that one.
