Buddy Read Requests? Post them here!

Hi Sue. I am new to this group, so not sure how it works. But I would be interested in reading that book in February.

Yes, I am; thank you, Carolien! Let me know once you have a plan and/or an open thread, and I'll join you (otherwise I'll go for February). I'm free between 15Jan-31Mar.
[I wonder if one single thread for all this early French literature could work, with participants reading this or that text and contributing to the big picture. Michaela, Darya, Carolien, Cynda – what do you think? Otherwise, there'll be three smaller buddy reads.]

The Mirror of Simple Souls by Marguerite Porete, the French-speaking mystic burnt at the stake for heresy in Paris in 1310.

Hi , Michaela ! I am interested in reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee if it can possibly be scheduled after December ?
I am excited to see so many interested in buddy reads for the coming year. It is a great way to organize a group read for books that somehow never garner enough votes to win the group polls.
When you have decided on a month for your read and are sure you have participants, please indicate the specific book and month to me and I will add it to the schedule and create your thread. Happy reading to all!

I'm "booked up" with group/buddy reads in January
but I'd be happy to read Carol in December
and Oroonoko anytime from Feb...

Thanks Sue. Will do.

I'll also try to remember to message you when it starts, Lorraine.

And Carol December 2023? or 2022, Fed? I´m rather busy this December.

I have Lakota Woman on my list. If you will put it off for a few months (or 3 or 4) I can join you.

Welcome , Paula ! Nice to have you joining in too !

Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
and
Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont by Elizabeth Taylor

Parable of the Sower and Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont.
My reading schedule is open.

I'm pretty open for Parable. I haven't committed to any reads yet. Whatever time frame works for others will work for me.

Parable and Mrs Palfrey would both qualify for New School Second Place of Worse if anybody needs ideas for the challenge.

I like Mrs.Palfrey for January and Parable for February or March. Either is OK with me :)

I'm happy to jump in with Mrs. Palfrey in Jan or wait to Feb. What do others think?

January if that will work for you? Fed is also in and available if I remember correctly.

I will request buddy read thread now.

Of course! Just choose a month when you know the other books you´re planning to read. :)

Sounds good! :)
Question, as I never organised a buddy read in this group: How many people are the minimum to request a buddy read?

It´s on my tbr list too, so I plan to join.

That's great, Darya, thanks! Let's see if Michaela wants to add that as well, otherwise I'm happy to read it just the two of us. I'll read it in Italian+Latin.
