Title: The Ex Hex

Would you recommend this book? Not particularly, no. I read this back before the group read was chosen for October. It started off really fun, and I was enjoying it, but then everyone got hit with a secondary curse of idiocy apparently, because they all did the absolute dumbest thing. Theoretically they were trying to solve the curse and fix the ley lines, but it seemed like they were doing everything BUT trying to solve the curse.

Would you recommend this book? Yes, but only if you've read the first two books in the trilogy (which were also incredible). Any of this series would work for this prompt, I just spread all three out around the challenge. :) This first one could stand alone, though.

Would you recommend this book? Yes! I wasn't in the mood for fantasy witches and having sold books on the Craft and Wicca starting back in 1981, I was ready for something different.
One of my favorite movies, which is SUPER faithful to the book - and still, the book has layers and clues and symbolism that I enjoyed for the first time.

Would work for social horror too. By the writer whom Stephen King calls " a Swiss watchmaker" in comparison to other horror writers -- including himself.

Recommend? Yes, I loved this and read it more than once this year. It's a gothic fantasy romance for older ya and up age group. This also works well for the BookTok prompt.

Recommend? Kinda of a let down actually. Maybe I would feel differently if I hadn’t seen the show first. They really improved upon it with the show. Cut out the parts that dragged and added some great scenes. I felt the same way when I read Stardust too.

Recommend: Yes. Not the greatest novel, but very entertaining and I loved the ending.

Author: Deborah Harkness
Recommend? Yes. I do suggest reading the series in order, though, or you will definitely be lost.

LOL. I remember thinking this at one point too. Well most of the middle really.

Recommend? Yes. Great Origin Story. But like with all her novels I feel like you need to have time and a dedication to it because they can take a while to get thru; there's just so much in them.

Teri (teria) | 1554 comments Title: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Would you recommend this book? Definitely, it's a classic. It wasn't about witches as much as the movie portrayed, though.
