I've read A Week in Winter (I've read most of Binchy, actually) -- great curl up on the couch author, and I remember liking this book. And I read The Secret Garden -- lucky you getting to read it now! Good luck on your challenge!

I re-read The Secret Garden a few years ago, I'd originally read it as a kid. Hope you like it :)

The Secret Garden was such a nice surprise. I loved it. Of course, The Two Towers and The Return of the King were both so good. I enjoyed them just after high school.

The Two Towers and The Return of the King are excellent books in my opinion. LOTR is one of my favorite series of all times. I have many of your other books on my TBR, wish you the best of luck on your challenge.

Interesting that others have commented on The Secret Garden. I just reread it a couple months ago for the Motley Challenge. I barely remembered it from childhood.

Great list! Can't go wrong with Tolkien. I'm about due for a reread. Also, anything by Maeve Binchy. I want to read A Thousand Ships as well.

Nice selections, Ann - enjoy! I re-read The Secret Garden recently and enjoyed it all over again. Tolkien's books are on my radar, but I received the Song of Ice and Fire collection by George R.R. Martin as a gift, so I'll be reading Game of Thrones in another challenge.

I read it years ago but liked it a lot (4 stars anyway.) It didn't stick with me though and can't remember much about it.

So I just looked over your list and saw that you have The King's General on it as an alternate! I have that around here somewhere. It's unusual to see any DuMaurier other than Rebecca (and occasionally Jamaica Inn) on anyone's list. A pleasant surprise!

I am in the middle of re-reading Lord of the Rings. Such great books! I hope you enjoy your list!
