Thanks, Santa Iain! LOL

Didn't you want me to re-implement graphic novel support in your tab?... copying my tab this year removed support, but then you went and lived on Webtoon/etc this summer/fall...
I was considering either re-implementing graphic novels for you, or a graphic novel section at the top/bottom that combined all reads into a single entry (divided by 4 for page count), so it wouldn't screw with the short story/book/tome stuff... that section would probably still be grouped, even if grouping is removed for everything else?...

How's that going to count? Most of the comics I am reading are translations and do not always have a page count. So I tended to just put chapter #'s as the page count.
I have 85% of the comics & light novels I read on my Comic Spree post. If I didn't do that, I would have zero idea of where I stopped on the ongoing series.
I'm guessing I put "Y (Yes)" for the Graphic Novel column?
Did I give you back the GN column?... I thought my sheet removed the formula since I never used it...
I'll have to check...
Most of the webtoons I read had page numbers, I thought... can't remember... if not, I'd probably hit the page down button on keyboard, or look up the page count on the webtoon wiki if caught up...

I think the GN column is the one I put ~~~ into. I just didn't use it. lol

If that's extra work though no need to bother.
Thanks.

Thanks, Santa Iain :D

It can either be in the genre column, or I can repurpose my Re-reads checkbox over in the extra column A I have, if you want YA to be separate from genre listings... the column A thing can also feed into a little bar graph at the top, YA vs non-YA...

I'll mostly be copying the 2021 sheet and wiping books, adjusting the year, and deleting people not participating this year and/or adding new participants... last thing is team coloring... team coloring is actually the biggest headache/lol... since default sheet users can just use the right colored hidden templates, and custom sheets either need to be recolored manually, or redone from scratch with the customizations copied over...
That's why I started taking requests and thinking about it all a few weeks early... also trying to catch up on 2 years of GR book reviews :D

You can put it as YA vs Non - YA. That's fine for me. Thanks, Iain :) It doesn't need to be something big or so. Just to track what I've read the most.

I've been putting off the work :D
But yea... definitely planning to get it mostly functional in the next few days... it should be easier to get it 90% ready this year, I think... just been focused on other stuff, despite creating this thread over a week ago...
Jenna's pre-announcement a few days ago gave me a bit of a deadline :D

Went in and wiped everyone's sheet and set it to 2022...
Step Two Complete... next I'll start looking at requests... probably not today tho :)
Slow start... I think I was done already, last year (since I was just looking at old comments)

@Iain: no worries. There's still time!
Wasn't as bad as I thought... most people just wanted their 2021 sheet again...
Frank wants to be on the leftmost team :D
I dealt with removing/hiding November/December stuff on 2 sheets, ungrouped Soo's rows, and gave Niki a Cerulean color scheme with some Hex Code magic that I think looks pretty good, and less harsh than the usual blue color scheme...
Just need to add the YA stuff for Saar later, and the manga stuff for Paula later... and anything me and Soo cook up, to deal with her webcomic fixation :D
Back to my backlog of personal spreadsheet stuff, for a bit :D

Hey Iain, just a note - I accidentally switched two people when I initially posted it (they were beside each other on my list) so just make sure that Choko is on the Tome Raiders and Olivia is on the House of Chains.

I've edited my original post to make it correct. Everything should be good now.

I'm not THAT on the ball at implementing team stuff... I probably won't have the sheets released for a bit yet... as much as some people want to start planning their 2022 read (Soo) ;)

No rush or anything :) Thanks for taking the lead on all the sheets <3

It's coming along... I deleted the people who didn't sign up, and have stars next to people I need to make sheets for... later I'll reteam, resort, and recolor the tabs at the bottom...
Then everyone should be on the right teams for the Main page data... then I'll need to doublecheck/resort the Team Tab, and run the tab ID magic button and make sure nothing breaks, and the sheet should be shareable, if unfinished and with mucked up color schemes...
It definitely be simpler, if everyone just went hogwild on coloring their own sheets, and we just used that little square in the top left to ID teams with a bit of color unity... the square with PLAYER NAME, TEAM NAME, and YEAR NUMBER, I mean...
I definitely went with a bit of a monthly rainbow pattern that makes my sheet fit with any team, a few years ago :D

My true wishlist would be super complicated...
It would take the 4 color templates and condense them into a single Simple/Monthly template...
But it would be alot of work...
It would take every color decision on the sheet: top, side points, and main section, and codify it into conditional formatting... 4x over... and changing the team name would instantly swap everything to red/green/blue/purple at the flip of a switch... you could even combine Simple and Monthly, I think... Simple could be Monthly with the 10 rows of extra data hidden... graphs would need to be deleted tho, or hidden off-screen...
I might do the work, one of these years... not at the last minute tho...

Only doing the 1,000 books spree if Iain does it too. =P
It would be interesting to do at least once in my 40's. Bwahahaha

I left all your unread books from 2021 at the bottom of your sheet...

I totally only team color the sheets that never modified from the original templates... it's less work and more colorful, in general...
Even if some of the color schemes hurt my eyes with neon and pastel shading :D

I'm going ahead and sharing the sheet link with everyone... let people start planning: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
All that's really been done so far, is sheet wiping, team assigning, tab coloring, and deletion of tabs for people not playing this year (and some complicated stuff to keep everything sorted on the Participant Data page / etc)
I still need to implement the Graphic Novel / Manga column changes some people want (addition or removal, depending), and the YA checkbox that Saar wants...
Niki's Cerulean Sheet is implemented, with Hex Code Magic...
And Frank's Team is Leftmost... I moved Red team to the end this year as a result, and shuffled the other 2 teams around in the middle so there's still a color gradient...
There's gonna be a ton of #DIV0 errors until we get some non-zero values in the sheet... if you see any #ERROR or #REF errors, tho, let me know...
And feel free to color your sheets however you want, so I don't have to :D
I might follow through on my idea to make the top 3 team cells team-coordinated, tho... be warned :D

Time to send your letters to
SantaTimelord Iain, with your Tracker requests...I know the Teams haven't been made yet, but I'm gonna be starting the spreadsheet soon, when I have time, so it's ready and waiting for New Year's, with minimal effort on my part, at the last minute...
To that end, I know some of you like customizing your sheet... and/or, have had new ideas since customizing last year... I leave changing colors to you guys (after setting the initial team colors to template)... but if you want new data columns, new graphs, new statistics, etc, then leave your requests here, and I'll try to get to all of them...
I don't tend to have time year-round for this, but anything in the next month or so will be accommodated, in a generally timely manner...
For inspiration/ideas, look at the previous spreadsheets:

Let the fun begin!!! (and the hype)
