Susan Ericksen is one of my favorite narrators. Among many credits to her skills, she does an amazing job narrating the In Death series by J.D. Robb.

Sherri Bryant (sherribryant) | 136 comments 15. The Witch with No Name by Kim Harrison (The Hollows #13)

This was a second listen as I didn't feel so great about it the first time I listened in 2018. It was supposed to be the last book of the series, but since I have discovered there are currently three more after this one, I decided to give it another shot. Overall, it's a strong 3/5.

Fran,

I thought that Horror wasn't a favorite of yours? Did you like this book? It's a favorite of mine.

message 89: by Fran (new)

Fran | 710 comments Cheryl, I read a mystery set out west on a ranch next to the property this novel was written and I was a bit more intrigued. It wasn't bloody, gory, filled with stupid characters or terrifying. It was reminiscent of Poe's atmospheric Gothic novels of suspense. I was pleasantly surprised

125.) Moonflower Murders - Anthony Horowitz
126.) Transcendent Kingdom - Yaa Gyasi
127.) Ricochet Joe - Dean Koontz

If you are a fan of Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas series I highly suggest Ricochet Joe. Joe and Odd are two peas in a pod and the paranormal/fantasy aspect is similar. My only critique is that it's under 100 pages and I would easily have read three times that!

This dense work by Proust was over 1000 pages and not enjoyable at all. 2/5 stars
