The monthly challenge for 2022 will have two components:

1. Genre of the month
2. Mini-challenge, which is cumulative.
Members will have until the end of the year to complete the monthly mini-challenges.
You can complete the challenge prompts in any order, not just the order in which they are posted.
3. Three challenge prompts will be posted each monthly in the genre thread.

Hopefully it will make sense when we start reading in 2022.

You're welcome, Penelope!

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1190 comments Where’s romance?? We don’t have a romance month! I love mysteries and sci-fi and those others, too. But you cutting romance out? That’s a biggie on my list of genres.

message 6: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I didn’t even notice romance was missing. See how much I pay attention.

I can totally add Romance. In February- I forgot all about it so I'm very glad you caught my oversight.
I hope I didn't forget anything else.

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1190 comments Thank you Rosemarie! Whew! I was worried…

You have some time to think about it, Sonia, and if you're looking for ideas, I recommend the plays of Oscar Wilde. They are funny.

Becca Tyler (scrappybec) | 296 comments I was active in. The group several years ago, but I’ve been in absentia lately. As of today I’m starting again and will do as much as I can before the end of the year.

I have a couple of questions for next year's planning regarding challenge prompts.
Are three a month too many?
Would you prefer doing 2 of the 3 prompts as the regular challenge and the third prompt as a bonus?
Should we have the same prompts in 2023?

The actual order of the genres will be the same as in 2022.

I think 3 is fine, but if you want to do it the other way (and it's not an additional burden) it's a nice way to change it up.

I like your idea of 2 a month with the 3rd as a bonus. I also agree with Cindy on whatever is easier for you. I appreciate you taking the time to create these prompts.
