Addie didnt blow me away ir anything, but i enjoyed nevertheless. A bit too long for my liking and I would probably like the focus to be more on Luc and Addie so it would take a darker turn. Not my favourite Schwab book :D

Little one was home this week due to end of semester vacation, so I didn't have much alone time :(

On a brighter note, we went to the library yesterday and I picked up a couple of books...and Sonia picked up A LOT of books, so I'll have plenty to chose from :p

Always good when you can steal books from Sonia's stack as well as reading your own hehe.

Hope you had a good time though with the little one during semester vacation, even if it meant not a lot of time for yourself :-)

We played a bit of animal crossing :D it was fun. She's been clingy, so it was good for her to spend that time together.

Aww yay animal crossing. I need to get back to my island. I stopped playing over the summer for a couple of not fun reasons and haven't been able to pick it back up again but I really need to go since I know they made changes and I'm curious.

Santa gave her animal crossing this Christmas...and she doesn't play everyday, so we are still in the early stages of the game. But it's fun and it's really cute.

I'm really not sure I want to read another book of hers. The ones I did read, I enjoyed, but at the same time, they feel sort of same-y. And once you're over the wow effect, and start thinking about what you actually read, there is so much wrong with them... I find hehe.

Someone once called her books trauma porn and now I can't unsee it. I also hated the ending. I'm just kind of over her to be honest. You are right, everything is the same! This one really pushed me over the edge because of everything I found wrong with it.

That is.... uncomfortably fitting haha.

I've read 3 and they were all revolving around some sort of trauma now that I think about it - abuse Confess, different kind of abuse It Ends with Us, and then there was Ugly Love.

"It Ends with Us" was the book that ended my reading of her books. It was a lovely romantic ending but sooo, so wrong. Loved the beginning of that one, admittedly, and then.. hm.

I've had a few 5 star reads from her, but I haven't read her books since 2019, curious if I feel any different.

I've never read Colleen Hoover and it sounds like I should be glad I haven't. She definitely falls into the NA sub-genre of "bad things happen to me (the mcs) ALL OF THE TIME" that made me leery of the genre when it first starting getting buzz. Guess I'm glad to have skipped out on her.

You should:) The first book in this series still has a special place in my heart, all because of Mason Lowe;)

I've liked all the books I've read by Colleen Hoover, but I haven't read that many yet. The last one I read was Verity, it was a bit different than the others. Darker and more adult.

Verity was definitely darker than her others. I certainly don't want to discourage anyone from reading her! I think I've just reached a point where she is no longer enjoyable for me.
