Eni | 169 comments One of the books I brought from the library is a Stephen King book, which works for a skip, and I think the title starts with either an I or a F... Can't remember and I now have 3 cats sleeping on top of me so it's hard to go check :p but Sonia told me about the zombie book that's announced as free here on perks and I kinda want to read that instead... Need to go see if it fits anything.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) That's the dream right there. three cats sleeping on you at once

message 207: by Eni (new)

Eni | 169 comments Mistakes were made! X_x

I may have called Sonia to get me the kindle so I could check the zombie book *whistles* she was working and I made her get up :x she needs breaks right? And exercise!
Anyways... The Stephen King book I brought was End of Watch which is the last book of a trilogy I haven't started yet :( I blame the Portuguese title!

Haha, unfortunately they do get very heavy after a while! And entirely too warm, too ;-) But it's awesome nevertheless!

message 210: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Argh, that's so annoying when you get a book and then later realise that it isn't the first in series.. At least you can now with good conscience read the zombie book hehe ;-)

I'm sure it'll fit something! Even if it's just one card, it's all good :-)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments This task:

10. Read a book with two of the five Feng Shui elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) in the text (plural form accepted).

I can definitely easily cover with one of the Elemental Assassin books. My next one would be Heart of Venom, which also works for 3, 8, 9 with just title, author and # in series.

Snowtulip | 834 comments For mini-challenge I can start with a few list books:

23. Read a book from this list -Doors, Portals, Gates

and depending if we do A or B:
A33. Read a book from this list - Cities
OR
B33. Read a book from this list - Small Towns

Also, if someone wants those, no problem....usually no one want list books, so I usually aim for those :)

message 227: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments That does remind me.

What do you guys want to go with?

A - Living in the City?
or
B - Living in a Small Town?

We'll have to decide fairly soon so we know what to read for :-)

message 228: by Emelie (new)

Emelie | 53 comments Hmm... Both sounds fun. I read both of the genres listed for them, anyway.

I'm gonna look into the mini-challenge more when I've finished my current assigned book. :)

message 229: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I'm up for either. Also, I have a book for the flower list ready to go.

2. Read a book with (a) muscular man/men on the cover

@Sonia you can call them yours all you want. But we both know who they would sleep with if I didn't close my door at night. Just saying. Also, I now want 🍿 :(

message 234: by Eni (last edited Feb 12, 2022 08:49AM) (new)

Eni | 169 comments Ok I'm reading Against the Current (Zombies! #2) by R.S. Merritt next. Apparently I'm in a zombie phase... I binge watched "All of us are dead", been read the walking dead comics #1 and have #2 to read and now this series. There might be something wrong with me :/

Anyways, for the mini-challenge it works for:
1. Read a book with a building on the cover (can be part of a building or a small one, as long as it's clearly a building) - (maybe...to me it looks like building tower silhouettes)
9. Read a book with at least 4 different colours on the cover (percentage does not matter, letters of the title/author count as well) - black, white, blue, orange
29. Read a book with a character who is moving to another place (can be just moving house or to a different geographic location) - they are constantly moving around because of the zombies

message 236: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 1005 comments For the mini, do we need to claim our tasks before we start or can we just list what a book works for when we read? I mean, I know as we get into it, people will more than likely have to purposely read for more difficult tasks, but are we claiming them outright before we start?

message 237: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments No, there's no need to outright claim them before we start. Once we get to having fewer tasks left, then I would say yes, so we don't read double for a task without the book working for something else, but usually books tend to work for more than one thing, so we should always be able to switch things around.

I'd just suggest for those who read less books a month to maybe give a shout for what they could read since they'll be reading less books - myself included hehe.

Did we decide which option? I saw chatter but didn't see a definite answer... then again, I easily could have missed it.
