Miss Jane Marple helps pal Carrie Louise, invited by worried sister Ruth to Stonygates, where arrested boys rehabilitate. Foundation trustee Christian is shot dead in the guest room while paranoid Edgar shoots at Carrie's husband nearby. After more deaths, Jane sees illusions. Finished They Do It With Mirrors by Agatha Christie today. Good, fast read though the plot was too simplistic and a bit contrived. I figured out the who and how long before Miss Marple, just not the why (though I had a feeling).

I also found and watched one of the movies on YouTube (2004?), and holy cow did they butcher that. It made me wonder if whoever wrote the script bothered to read the entire book. (view spoiler)[A few of the big changes include: Changing Gina from Carrie Louise’s granddaughter to her daughter, replacing Alex R (Stephen’s brother) with Johnny R (their father), changing the location of the Edgar/Lewis confrontation from a closed study to darkened terrace, and changing the murder weapon. There are two other movie versions from 1985 and 1991. I wonder if it would be worth trying to find another version?
