PattyMacDotComma I'm sure we've all been guilty of Keeping Up Appearances or worrying 'what will the neighbours think'. Aussie author Tricia Stringer gives us a group of older women in a small South Australian town who think they know all the town's secrets. HA! I can see why the author is so popular.
Keeping Up Appearances by Tricia Stringer 3.5★ My review of Keeping Up Appearances

This is the thirteenth book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team paranormal romantic suspense series. As always, this author does a great job of bringing action, romance, and suspense to the story line.

Karin I finished and liked Kon-Tiki by Thor Heyerdahl Kon-Tiki by Thor Heyerdahl

Heyerdahl was a controversial man in his day, but he did prove one part of his outrageous theory (recent DNA testing as shown he was partly right on another part of it, too)

Here's my review.

Esther (eshchory) | 125 comments Maror by Lavie Tidhar Maror by Lavie Tidhar

A 'hard-boiled' fictionalized history of organized crime in Israel that takes its title from the bitter herb.
I am not sure how it will work for people who don't get the Israeli historical references.

PattyMacDotComma Tough, stubborn young teen Duchess Day Radley says she is an outlaw and will do whatever she has to to protect her little brother in We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker. Good story, bit too long.

PattyMacDotComma I wound up a yearly challenge with a new favourite book, Too Much Lip, by Aussie Aboriginal author Melissa Lucashenko. It is like sitting on the verandah with an indigenous family in a small town in Northern NSW.Love, jealousy, land rights. Lots of language, both Aboriginal and swearing. Loved both the written and audio editions.

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 397 comments I was pleasantly surprised by Joanna Bourne's Spymasters series. It's historical romantic suspense with more emphasis on the political intrigue than on the romantic pairing. Set during 1790s to about 1820 in France and England.
