Good to know that he's a quality writer. It's on my TBR list, so I will get around to it.

Yes. At times it reminds me of 1984 and the 2 minutes of hate.

You don't need all the answers right now. New paths will reveal themselves if you have the courage to get started."

All the above quotes are good ones, but i must say the one i cited is outstanding. Thank you for each one, Alias.

Alias,
I think it's a good quote for getting us going.

"Finish every day and be done with it. For manners and for wise living it is a vice to remember. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day for all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the rotten yesterdays."

~~~ The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett
Deb, have you read The uncommon reader? Did you enjoy it ?
The answer is no. It's on my TBR but not particularly high on it. Reading what the Queen reads could be a fun adventure.
I read a lot about rock in the 1960s. (It was the best of times ... it was the most intense of times.)
If you read about Jimi Hendrix in London, you will find many accounts of just how sweet the man was ...
I saw Hendrix in Raleigh on April 11, 1969. Best guitar playing I ever heard. I liked a lot of other rock groups more than the Jimi Hendrix Experience then and even now ... most of his music was not melodic enough for my tastes. But again, easily the best guitar playing I ever experienced. And, Alias, the words that you posted with the peace symbol are the kind of words that he would have said.
I'm more like Alias. Although i have seen Peter, Paul & Mary in concert three times!
Gee, i feel i just revisited some of those concerts! :-)
100% agree.
"33% of high school graduates never read another book the rest of their lives and 42% of college grads never read another book after college. 70% of US adults have not been in a bookstore in the last five years and 80% of US families did not buy or read a book last year."
"Roughly a quarter of American adults (23%) say they haven’t read a book in whole or in part in the past year, whether in print, electronic or audio form, according to a Pew Research Center survey of U.S. adults conducted Jan. 25-Feb. 8, 2021. "
Today is the anniversary of the birth of author Ralph Ellison. For the first time i learned that his father, who hoped his Oklahoma City-born son would be a poet, named him for Emerson.
How 'bout that?
If you can only pick one habit to build, exercise might be the one. Everything is downstream from how your body is functioning."
~~~ The Colossus of New York BY
Colson Whitehead
The above quote was shared in her newsletter
The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun--Gretchen Rubin

And the Whitehead quote is quite true. As one has recognized many of those "unheralded" tipping points, it's a satisfaction to read someone else putting that sensation into words.
Thank you for sharing both with us.
