The Delightful Life of a Suicide Pilot by Colin Cotterill

Dr. Siri #15, last in the series. Siri finds a diary apparently written by a Japanese soldier at the end of WW II but can read only half of it. He is determined to read the entire diary and will in so doing will reveal much more than he expected. I found this book a disappointment -- needlessly complex and confusing with no real payoff. Not nearly the enjoyable reading experience of the others in the series.

Who doesn't love finding a new favourite book - and a debut, no less. Himself by Irish author Jess Kidd is a terrific blend of warmth and superstition and murder. The lot!

The Corpse on the Court by Simon Brett

Fethering #15. In this one Jude and Carole each pursue their own mystery rather than, as usual, working together. I liked this one, it moved right along.

You looking for a great book for kids? Little Platypus: A Day in the Life of a Platypus Puggle, by Aussie author Anna Brett with perfect illustrations by Rebeca Pintos, should be at the top of your list.
