OMG I loooooooove it!! I am making all the heart eyes. I laughed. I cried. I stayed up way too late.

Cuuuuuute.
Ooh I had a milestone moment a few days ago: I returned my entire library book stack!! I had finished them all on winter break. I did check out three books as soon as I checked in my stack... But still!! For a brief moment I had nothing out from the public library, which hasn't happened in at least 6 years.

Wow, that was epic. Seriously it was 22 hours long lol. I finished it today within 20 minutes of it expiring because I didn't wanna have to wait in the hold list for months again! In the beginning I felt kind of lost because almost none of the characters were the same as the first book, but eventually I figured out that I hadn't just forgotten dozens of characters' names, and got into the flow of it. At no point did I know how this book would end. And now that it has, I have no idea what to expect from the final book in the trilogy!

First storytime of the new year done!

I'm still in the middle of a couple books that are taking me a while because I keep watching TV instead of reading in the evenings lol. So I decided to knock out a short library book or two this weekend. This one's part of my effort to read more of the books we add to the library. Ancient history is an interest of mine so I enjoyed this one! We got a whole series of them on different ancient civilizations so I look forward to reading the rest.

My second 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die book of the year, after 1984 (which was a reread). It was pretty good but took up more of my time than I hoped or expected.

I've fallen behind on my MYRCA nominee reading! This brings me up to 6/9 of the Northern Lights nominees, and I've read 5/9 of the Sundogs nominees. And this was the last one I could read as an audiobook!

17.

19.

Once again I was forced to cram in a huge chunk of this audiobook in the final day because I didn't want to get stuck at the back of a huge waitlist again!! So, not the ideal way to wrap up this trilogy, listening to it at 2x speed for like 6 hours in one day lol. But overall I liked the trilogy a lot!! Like wow, at no point did I know where things were going.

21.

22.

Those were actually all combined into one audiobook but I'm counting it as three since they are originally three books.

24.

25.

My 12th MYRCA book of the school year. Voting is happening right now so it's not really necessary for me to keep trying to read them all, but they are good! What I should do is try to predict some of next year's nominees and get a head start lol

That's my progress from right before and during Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon.

34.

This was my first novel read aloud to a group! It took SO LONG. I don't know how teachers do novel readalouds lol. (Well for one thing they have a chance to read more than once a week.)

OK, all caught up! :D I've been reading some high-demand public library books that I can't keep for too long. Now I'll be shifting more towards my huge pile of school library books I took home for summer break! I just checked out and I have 22 books out from school lol.

My first 2023 MYRCA nominee read! 1/10 from the Sundogs list, 1/20 total.

LOVE!! I wanna immediately check out the sequel but I'm holding off because of my huge library book stack lol
48.

1/10 Northern Lights down, 2/20 total!
49.

Squeeeeeee!

I found this book really useful! As a neurodivergent person who consistently struggles to do the dishes.
51.

2/10 Sundogs down, 3/20 total!

53.

I started this book in April and it's just been sitting on my desk. It's literally a one-sitting read lol. Anyway, one more I can bring back to school!

55.

3/10 Sundogs down, 4/20 total!

57.

58.

That concludes the bulk of my public library stack at the moment, so now I'm shifting back to school books! I go back to work tomorrow, and the kids come back on Thursday, so I try to get most of my books back by then so they're available for students.

First storytime of the school year!

61.

2/10 Northern Lights nominees done, 5/20 total MYRCA nominees.
62.

63.

I watched the Netflix adaptation and am in LOVE so of course now I have to read the graphic novels, which I've somehow never done before.
64.

65.

And with that, Stormness Head has been summitted, and I move on to Mount Mindolluin! I'll have no trouble getting 10 more library books read; just my storytimes will pretty much get me there! Mount Seleya is more of a stretch this year...

Currently reading:
- Binti: The Complete Trilogy
- Aesop's Fables (very neglected)
- some Project Gutenberg ebooks that are taking a VERY long time
Out from the public library:
- Harrow the Ninth
- Fight Club
- Trainspotting
- Le mystère Blackthorn
- How to Play Ukulele: A Complete Guide for Beginners
Currently borrowed from a friend:
- The Doll's House (Sandman Vol. 2)
- Dream Country (Sandman Vol. 3)

And with that I summit Mount Mindolluin! I'm gonna hold off on upgrading to the next peak for now. Not sure I'll fit another 25 library books into the next 52 days.

Right??
76.

77.

Hey look I actually finished a book from my list of stuff to read soon that I made a month ago. :'D

I loved The Poet X and Binti!"
Haha there will be more Chuck Tingle to come!! :D
The saga continues in 2023!
Some goals:
- Stay on top of my library stack. I've been doing better with this recently. Let's keep it up!
- Make some progress on my get-from-library shelf.
- Make progress on my saved list on the public library website.
- Read some of the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. The library has loads of them.
Starting size of get-from-library shelf: 178
Starting size of public library list: 27
