How cruel!!! Haha. But I have to hand it to you guys! This challenge sounds intense yet fun!
I'm "SERIOUSLY" in. :)
So just to clarify, we are using Goodreads time during this challenge?

I will be VERY busy on the first week of March though (bc finals) so that will mean no reading. But I can read a lot after that.

Thanks guys ☺ You're all added ☺
Kate - Yes, Goodreads time, although if anyone is massively ahead time-wise, it's okay to start early and finish early if you get what I mean ☺
Tatiana - that's fine ☺ As long as we know ☺
Margarita - Thank you for letting us know! That's great ☺

This challenge is kind-of my mum's fault because she really likes this TV show! It just looked like too much fun to not do our own version ☺

Welcome to the group Berit ☺
1 - you can read any genre of books for the challenge, they can be young adult or adult. The only exception is books which have more pictures than words - so childrens books, cookery books, graphic novels etc.
2. Goodreads runs on 'Pacific Standard Time' - you can check what time that is here - http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time...
3. Yes, you get double points if you read your book with a buddy ☺ Buddy reads have to take place in this group, and you have to make at least 4 comments about the book on the buddy read thread ☺
Does that help?

1) How will the teams be made? Will the groups be made by you or in some other way?
2) Are we going to have to comment the books we have read on a thread? Also, what do you mean when you say review? Does it mean a long overall discussion of the book or just some points you liked/disliked about the book?
Abbie and I will split people into teams depending on whether they're 'serious' or 'just for fun'. We will probably have 1 or 2 teams of each.
A review just needs to have a couple of points saying what you liked or disliked about the book, or alternatively - 4 detailed status updates whilst you're reading the book ☺

Abbie and I will pick the teams on or before the 26th, and each team will have it's own threads where you'll be able to chat with your team mates, and post the links to your reviews. We'll probably keep the team threads in a seperate folder, but we will send out a group message when threads are up and running so that you don't miss them ☺

We just need a couple of lines saying what you liked and didn't like, so maybe - I really liked that this book was set in london, and I liked the main characters relationship with her brother. I didn't like the love triangle, and what happened to the neighbours dog.
Alternatively, you can do 4 detailed status updates as you're reading, and then just a star rating is fine ☺

I'm in, and definitely serious!

It's an addictive show! I have the kindle app but I can never beat the chaser! Maybe if they did book-related questions I'd be alright, but my general knowledge is not very good.

Which poetry books are you talking about? As long as they're not 4 words to a page sort-of-thing they're fine ☺

Can you beat the Chaser?
This is a team challenge, which will take place from March 1st to March 31st 2015. Winners will be announced on April 1st 2015 (no jokes!).
Participants are split into teams of 4 or 5. Please note, in this challenge you will rely on your team-mates; if you do not participate when you have said you will, you will let your team mates down! (You can also choose to play 'just for fun' ☺
The first part of the challenge is to read as many books as you can.
The second part of the challenge is to beat the chaser!
In this challenge, the part of the chaser will be played by myself and Abbie. **Evil laugh**
If as a team, you can read as many, or more books than Abbie and I, you will win!
This means that there is no limit to how many people win, as if your team reads more than we do - you win!
(In the event that nobody beats us, we will award random winners based on participation.) There will also be a prize for the person who reads the most.
When signing up for this challenge, you will need to tell us how seriously you are taking this challenge. If you are Serious about joining in and trying to beat Abbie and I, please say 'Serious'.
If you want to join in, but are limited in some way, or don't feel like you would keep up with your team, say 'Just for fun', and teams will be decided accordingly. (Serious players should be aiming to read 10 books or more during the challenge)
Teams will be picked on February 26th, and team threads opened. Each participant will need to comment on the team thread, confirming that they are 'ready' for the challenge to start, by 0:00 March 1st (Goodreads time). If you do not confirm that you are playing, you will be removed from the team.
Please note: We will not tolerate non-participation during this challenge. We have had problems with team challenges in the past, and it is your team-mates that suffer! If you are playing but will only be online at weekends, please let us know, if for any reason you have to pull out, please let us know.
We will try our best to make this a fair challenge for people who are serious about taking part. Please keep that in mind.
