Sherlock Holmes is dead. His body lies in a solitary grave on the Sussex Downs. But Dr. Watson survives, and is now given permission to release tales in Sherlock's 'black box', those cases that are, dear reader, unbelievable - for their subject matter is of the most outré and grotesque nature.

Beginning with 'The Adventure of the Lady's Finger', Holmes and Watson discover a dark, uncanny world beyond their imagining. It starts with a victim whose flesh reacts adversely to silver and sunlight, whose blood does not thicken when exposed to oxygen. And then a Transylvanian nobleman arrives at Baker Street demanding Holmes's assistance in the kidnapping of his beloved wife, Mina.

Part 1: (view spoiler)[I'm very intrigued by Watson and Mary being vampires. I do feel bad for him though because Count said Mary is no longer his wife. Ouch. Also, why did they think vampires could die from drowning? Always thought it was a stake to the heart or whatever. So, I'm not really surprised Mina was alive. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2: (view spoiler)[Well, I'm glad that they are both safe but now I just want to meet this priest. I also love how Holmes is like - I'm here, let's move on and not worry about what may have happened. (hide spoiler)]

Part 3: (view spoiler)[I'm pretty surprised by Mary/Maggie's trip to the dark side. It's so different from how I've seen her and I kind of like it. I'm also glad that Holmes and Watson are okay and now know who the priest is. Oh man. I hope we get a battle. (hide spoiler)]

Part 4/Finished: (view spoiler)[Well that was a fun twist. I had a feeling that Count was Holmes and Holmes was Count. I'm glad that they had the upper hand in the end because it needed to happen. I also wonder if there's going to be another book based on that ending. (hide spoiler)]
