Antonia Ramirez Hey everyone! So, I'm looking for recommendations. I read the song of achilles six months ago and I devoured it in 4 days, then I was completely hypnotized by Circe, however I can't quite find another book that is similar to Madeline Miller's incredible writing style. It completely enthralls me, and I need to find something at least similar to it. I just finished reading six of crows and crooked kingdom duology, and while I enjoyed it, it was nothing compared to Circe or the song of achilles. Please help me find something in the likes of it!!

A Locke and Key I would recommend Daughters of Sparta by Claire Heywood. It’s closer to Circe though, but based on your mention of Circe, wouldn’t deter you in the slightest.

Rocío de la Hera I loved Circe too. Then I read Ariadne by Stain, but it's not that good. I would recommend you try reading "The Penelopiad" by Atwood. It's a completely different style, but it's amazing. You might quite like it if you enjoy re tellings. Hope you like it.

Aves hi! i also was in an awe with her work, and found myself in the similar problem; you should try charles dickens works. Now i know you must already know about him and his words but honestly going back to all those classics fits perfect after reading Miller's work.

Aisha Nadat Electra!! This is also a retelling of Greek mythology illiad and its incredible! The author casts light on to a side character and tells the story in her perspective just like Madeleine does with Patroclus and Circe.
Highly recommended.

Oopsie Daisy (Crows Version) Umm if you like Greek Mythology then the Percy Jackson series is amazing. You've probably read that though.

I think you should read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

Carly "The Wolf Den" isn't strictly mythology, but it is Greco-roman. If is that setting that you're going for this is your best bet. It's about prostitutes in Pompeii. I felt that like Madeline Millers' work, it had a sad, but satisfying ending.
The Wolf Den

"The Witch's Heart" is Norse mythology. In some aspects, it reminds me of Circe and Song of Achilles. It focuses on a witch with singular talent, her children, and a tragic prophecy (see the similarities). Like Circe, the story is focused and driven by women. I also liked the style a lot. Being a mythology retelling, the magic system is similar to the work of Madeline Miller. Weird stuff happens; it's not explainable. You accept it as part of the mystery of the world. Like the greek gods, the Norse gods have a moral system somewhat outside of mortal comprehension. Also Circe, Song of Achilles, and the Witch's Heart come off as less juvenile than 6 of crows. That might work better for you.
The Witch's Heart

Total genre jump, but "Where the Crawdads Sing" was so beautiful and enjoyable stylistically in a way that I felt was similar to Circe. Just a beautifully described setting about a woman living in solitude and struggling to get by. It also has a romance aspect like Song of Achilles. Bittersweet but well-deserved ending.
Where the Crawdads Sing

I wouldn't bother with Ariadne, Silence of the Girls, or Elektra.
I feel like Ariadne and Silence of the Girls didn't just include violence against women, but they bask and revel in it. I found it uncomfortable personally.

Anyway, I hope that's helpful. All of these were favorites of mine. If you can be specific about the aspects of the books that you enjoyed, I might have a few more suggestions.
