I’ll be honest, I thought this book was very boring. The monotony of Patrick and his work buddies doing nothing but arguing over where to eat, and talking about fashion rules made drove me crazy (…no comment). Being in his mind was a rollercoaster from super boring moments of him just naming designer brands to intense, graphic and vile acts he describes, still, without many emotions. I loved every time we got a deeper glimpse into Patricks is thinking. Every time he blatantly mentioned how insane and out of control he is, seemingly even asking for help but everyone around him being too self absorbed to even listen to him.
None of the characters are likeable, none of Patricks motives make sense to me. Maybe he just needs to feel something in this life where everyone around him only cares about appearances and themselves. I honestly don’t have too many thoughts on the book, but it is definitely very different than I expected and I gave it 3/5 stars
