Congrats Murderbot! In congratulations, we will let you watch your dramas unbothered by human emotions. We wonder some about Chengdu. And we not only kick off our January pick, but wrap up our December one too!

terpkristin | 4407 comments Oh man the intro with Baby Shark tune. I've been watching a lot of Ted Lasso so had "Jamie Tartt" in my head.

Fun show. Red wine for everybody!

Mark (markmtz) | 2822 comments A series doesn't have to be finished to be nominated for a Hugo. The Expanse was first nominated for Best Series in 2017. The Expanse was nominated again and won the 2020 Hugo for Best Series.

Mark (markmtz) | 2822 comments One last Expanse story coming in March. The Sins of Our Fathers: The Novella is the ebook version, or you can read it in the complete collection of Expanse short fiction Memory's Legion.

Aren't these all tv shows?

A vaporizer might help with lung issues.

I’m not a big reader.

That going to be hard to beat (with a living author)

Rothfuss, Martin & Lynch have some time up their sleeve then 😉.

Trike | 11211 comments It’s been 7 years, more than 2400 days, since Gerrold announced the next installment would be published in 2015. That amuses me.

Wow, super interesting that Kingkiller is longer than Song of Ice and Fire! That feels shocking to me.

Ian (RebelGeek) Seal (rebel-geek) | 860 comments I’m confident Doors of Stone will be worth the wait, I just hope the Winds of Winter is too.

I was in my 40s when the last book of both series came out.

It's likely I will be in my 60s when the next in both comes out. 😟

I find it admirable that you still believe there will be a next one.

I expect another Kingkiller Chronicle book. Maybe later this year.

I am less certain that I or GRRM will see his next book released.

I wish Scott Lynch well and hope he can overcome his depression to live a fulfilling life and get some enjoyment out of his writing career.

He tweeted that the first draft of The Thorn of Emberlain was finished, pre pandemic, which gives me hope. I don't expect Kingkiller this year, but it does seem like Rothfuss is in a better mental place and is finding enjoyment in other things
