I used the fruit machine to narrow the choices down to ten, and then to match a theme to a month.

March -> British
April -> Before 1800
May -> Fitness/health related
June -> Paranormal
July -> Food as a business
August -> Craft as a hobby
September -> Dogs
October -> Craft as a business
November -> Historical 1800s
December -> Vintage clothing/collectibles/antiques

A reminder of who's choosing books for the rest of the year.

March - Melissa
April - Emily
May - Fanficfan44
June - Cindy
July - Heather
August - Randa
September - Melodie
October - Tammy
November - Nell
December - Lindsay

Alternate:
Barb

☯Emily Ginder | 1410 comments Do we select a book with the theme or are there nominations and a poll?

You'll choose both books, one of your choice and one that fits the theme. That way there won't be any worry about the timing of nominations and polls.

☯Emily Ginder | 1410 comments Okay, I can't think of any cozies that take place before 1800!

Joan | 15 comments How does this work? I've not participated before. Do I just pick a book on my own that fits the category>? Then, what is the next step?

I've been a member of Goodreads for a while but have not participated. I do want to, though.

Joan M.

Here's a link to mysteries by historical period. Note that this is a mystery site so not all of them are cozies.

We have a member select the two books each month - they are shown in post 2. They'll choose one of their own choice and one to fit the theme.

OK I was wondering that too. So we don't pick out books just read what is picked for us. Sounds like a plan!
